It Works

Everything went well until payment to Intuit from the personal info page. All pages were a good size to work with, however the "continue bar" to pay could not be done because the page was too long. Having to use a Windows 11 laptop for Turbotax this year, I finally figured out how to remove the Task Bar to access the almost bottom of the page. There was a bug in the state payment software last year and the lady on the phone was most helpful correcting the problem; only it was too late to send in a five-star compliment.

Turbo tax is tricky

I started with the online version. The option to have an expert do my return was clunky and hard to understand. it also wanted me to wait over an hour to be connected to said expert. I designed to do the return myself. I needed help and reached out to an "expert". My problem was a simple oversight in where to enter estimated taxes paid. The "expert" had no idea how to fix this and had to consult other experts. Spent 45 min on the phone hearing the sound of crying children in the background. TT wanted to charge me $256. I downloaded TT Deluxe for $47 and completed my federal form no problems.

Turbo Tax was OK

Turbo Tax required more work than I bargained for. When Turbo Tax interfaced with the Vanguard site, there were numerous errors that required fixing. For some reason, some of the fields in Turbo Tax were not populated. This required additional Log ins to Vanguard to correct these errors

Not easy to enter IRS provided PIN

Every year, I have to go back in and enter my IRS e-filing PIN (received in mail). The program does not intuitively prompt to enter. My e-filing status gets rejected and I have to search Help on how to enter the IRS provided PIN. Please make it more of a prompt to enter that information

Social Security Determination Glitch

There is a glitch in your Missouri software. I entered zero "0" on Line 2, Section 3 - Schedule C, MOA-A, Social Security Calculation, and kept receiving review errors with recommendations that didn't resolve the problem. It was never clear what we were supposed to do, and it became a frustrating experience with what should have been an easy return. We researched the topic on-line, and none of the Turbo-Tax troubleshooting sites adequately addressed the issue (the suggestions provided by TurboTax reps didn't work. After several hours of trying, we finally left the data cell blank, the problem resolved. The software should have either interpreted the zero "0" as none and left it blank or instructed us to do so.

you are no different than the other software providers, if HRB didn't sell my info to Meta, i would still be using their software; you don't allow for a no answer for up selling questions, just 'I'll do it later' type answer choice which i find very annoying please remember no means no

It sucks this year

This is the first year I have had a horrible experience with Turbotax. First of all, I have only done 3 tax returns and have had to mail 2 of them in because of the error message "It seems we have a glitch". I tried all the recommended fixes and nothing worked. The error happened only when I tried to "pay" for either a fee or a tax. 2nd problem is that Turbotax says I have used all 5 of my returns.....I have not. I still have my own return to do and my parents, who are in their 80's. It has been an actual nightmare, and I have done these returns for as long as Turbotax has existed. I do not plan on using you guys again unless there is something that fixes this. I cant even get help through support, without paying for it, and its not even a problem I have....its a turbotax issue which is all over the internet and nobody is getting satisfaction. I am so disappointed I cant even put it into words.

The most efficient way to file one's taxes

I have used TurboTax for Probably 25 to 30 years now. Easy to use and always accurate. I used to have my accountant do my taxes. He recommended I do my own with TurboTax. The reason is the hardest part of tax preparation is organizing your records. Entering the information into the tax program is the easy part. I have always been very organized in my record keeping. Any questions I have are easily answered by the software or TurboTax's help community.

Couldn't File electronically

When I transmitted my return, an error message showed up relative to form 5695. I had not checked the NO boxes for no Residential Energy Property Examples - Section B Line 21a and 21b but had entered an address. The software showed me the mistake and directed me to remove the address but it would not accept the deleted address (line 21c) and would not let me electronically file.

Turbo Tax seem to suck more and more every year

I am still getting this message saying available soon after getting email telling me it was ready. However I changed to forms 5695 and was able to fill the form out and when I went back to my step by step it was showing the credit added correctly to my refund total. But the step by step still shows it not available.
