Generally good but the Desktop Deluxe version seems inferior to the next level versions I have used in the past in more than just guidance. It almost seems archaic in comparison. I had to go back several times to figure out why I was being led by the leash to where I was going. I had no problem saving my file easily as a PDF but make it easier to save in TurboTax's format so I can save it on a portable hard drive for use later (next year) on either a Windows or Apple computer. Not intuitive to have "print" being used to "save"! Also found it non-intuitive to just accept the fact that for some reason I wasn't getting the benefit of tax law changes until I used my personal knowledge when looking at the final product to determine the way income related to the calculations. It seems like there ought to be a better way to meet the needs of the customer. I'm likely more tax savvy than average as I have completed my taxes on paper "back in the day" and know how to complete the forms but at this rate I think I could file my taxes myself about as easily as I can using TurboTax Desktop Deluxe.

When INTUIT canceled Its Deductible in the middle of the year, it created many problems and difficulties for your clients. A program such as Its Deductible married to the Tax program is significant and worth paying a fee for. Please consider re-inventing the wheel and bringing the program back.

I have used Turbo Tax for years and each year the application walks me though the process in a systematic way which allows me to compartmentalize my documents in a more organized manner. Turbo Tax takes the computational process and effectively populates all the necessary forms and tables which enormously simplifies my tax preparation.

I like Turbo tax and have used it for years. This years version is irritating when it comes to options for e-filing since you only get an option to e-file Federal and State. Why would I pay $25 to e-file a state return when I owe the state $27? That is almost 100% of my tax bill. I will continue to mail in state returns with a check until they are free.

User for 20+ years. Easy to use and navigate. Very thorough. Deluxe Edition works well for my rental properties, small business, and sale of my S-Corp shares. I have seen steady improvement in the user interface through the years and technical support has always been great.

In some ways the tax program was more difficult than in past years. I found that questions were asked without explanation of their meaning. Things were explained better in previous years. regardless, I feel that Turbotax is the best tax program available'

Worked as always!. However, big negative was that I wish there would have been some sort of indication that we were getting the $6000 social security deduction for my wife who is 65. I had to google/AI if the deduction was baked into the program and just not visible. Google/AI said it was, which we expected as our tax bill was much better than last years. It's like they don't want Trump's BBB to get any credit for the tax relief.

Very easy to use. Been using for several years and it's just an easy-to-use app. Importing info from last year makes it easier to start. Recommendation: Add a button on the expenses front page (where you choose guided or I'll choose) to allow the user to skip this section. For our taxes, we have far too few deductions to consider itemizing and having a simple button to bypass that section would be helpful. (I don't recommend that feature for income since if someone is filling out the info needed, they'd very likely, almost certainly, have income to enter.)

I used TurboTax Desktop to file Married Filing Separately with a non-resident alien spouse who does not have an SSN or ITIN — a situation that is explicitly allowed by the IRS. TurboTax allowed me to complete the return, but then let me e-file knowing the IRS would reject it, only to fail at submission with an SSN mismatch error. At no point did TurboTax clearly warn that e-file is impossible in this scenario or that the software would force me into paper filing after the fact. This resulted in: Wasted time troubleshooting an error that isn't fixable via e-file Confusing and contradictory guidance during the interview process A requirement to paper-file despite paying for software marketed as e-file capable TurboTax should detect this filing scenario early, clearly explain that paper filing will be required, and avoid guiding users down a guaranteed rejection path. This is a common situation for taxpayers with overseas spouses, and the software experience does not handle it well. The tax calculations themselves are fine, but the user experience and lack of upfront disclosure made this far more frustrating than necessary.

Interface is constantly trying to sell additional services I already declined and the default button is to buy what I already said I don't want to buy. The font is too small, I had to change my settings to read with my glasses on. The 3rd party payment page would not fully display all the fields with the display settings on large, I had to change my display settings to see all the fields. 2025 TurboTax required a OIS that my MacBook could not upgrade to. The donations section no longer provides the estimated values of goods like prior years creating more work.
