The 1040 printed form differed from the online form for the box "Check here if your main home....." Had to go online to figure out how to fill the box in. Turbo tax didn't even have the box in help. On Federal form you state the following states do not tax interest which NJ is listed as one of the states. It's not until you get to the fine print that NJ taxes most interest. The statement should be re-worded.

FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, IT APPEARED THE SOFTWARE HAD A GLITCH; IT KEPT SAYING I CANNOT FILE OR TRANSMIT AN AMENDED RETURN,WITHOUT FILING AN ORIGINAL, BUT I DID NOT ATTEMPT DO THAT. ALSO, IT CAME UP WITH A TAX PAYMENT OF APPROX. 3,400.00 TO NEW YORK STATE WHICH I HAD NEVER SEEN BEFORE. MY WIFE'S NYC TEACHER'S PENSION OF APPROX. $74,000, A MAJOR PART OF OUR NY INCOME, IS NOT TAXABLE IN NYS. I FINALLY GOT RID OF THE "AMENDED FORM" NOTICE SO I COULD TRANSMIT IT, BUT I WOULD LIKE AN ANALYSIS DONE FROM TURBO TAX. THANK YOU.

1. Turbo tax seems to be ignoring the fact that 50% of teacher pensions in Connecticut are taxed. CT schedule 1 line 45 is blank, yet should deduct 50% of my pension. I will likely have to file an amended return again. 2. When printing the federal return several pages from the banking Green Dot agreement prints in the middle of my tax return where it normally is. 3 I have used turbo tax for years I doubt I will use it again.

Very easy to use. Been using for several years and it's just an easy-to-use app. Importing info from last year makes it easier to start. Recommendation: Add a button on the expenses front page (where you choose guided or I'll choose) to allow the user to skip this section. For our taxes, we have far too few deductions to consider itemizing and having a simple button to bypass that section would be helpful. (I don't recommend that feature for income since if someone is filling out the info needed, they'd very likely, almost certainly, have income to enter.)

Fantastic as ever! I've been a TurboTax user for MANY years. One minor caveat: you're tending to get too much detailed and maybe over-cautious. Afterwards, I'm very intelligent and can figure things out myself instead of being led by the hand for everything.

After having accountants sit in front of their computer to do my taxes I realized that I could do it for a lot less money by using Turbo Tax. I actually see no difference than sitting in front of an accountant. Except for the fact I can do my taxes in my pajamas!

I have used Turbo Tax for quite a few years...over a decade...and I appreciate the "answer these questions" approach to doing taxes. I have the software cover everything even if it doesn't apply to me. It seems to work out just fine...a struggle here and there, but overall it directs you to an accurate result. If I had to give some advice for people just starting out...make sure your computer is updated to the most recent update...since Turbo Tax changes from year to year with the latest upgrades. Second, if you have a very difficult and confusing tax return, I would definitely use the personal tax help...or get a local tax professional to help. The reason I say this is because if you enter information and it confuses the software, or if it claims you made a mistake, it does not give you an exact procedure to remedy the "mistake"...you are left to fend for yourself. So, spend the money and get professional help. Otherwise, for simpler tax returns, you cannot beat Turbo Tax...it works very well.

I have used Turbo Tax for years and am always satisfied. I have a fair degree of tax requirements but still rely on Turbo Tax as a double check of my entries, to remind me of input I may have overlooked and for ease in entering and filing my Federal and State returns.

Compared to past years I have found at least 3 problems that I had to go to google to resolve my problems. New York state was one of the problems. Had repeated putting in the correct information but got the result that I know was incorrect for both NY and Federal. Explanation would take pages and time I don't have!
