I had to google/AI if the deduction was baked into the program and just not visible. Google/AI said it was, which we expected as our tax bill was much better than last years. It's like they don't want Trump's BBB to get any credit for the tax relief.

Federal forms worked fine. The Vermont State program for a non-resident was not complete for me to enter State pension funds received which are taxable. The program said I owed no taxes. I had to go into the form format to force an entry of the data. Only my prior experience, not using Turbo Tax, allowed me to complete an accurate return.

Overall, the 2025 TurboTax Deluxe was very good. There are a few questions I couldn't answer or were unclear. My Pension Plan Provider doesn't have a "FIN" ID number, so I entered their Federal ID # in its place. I used online searches to clarify info on RMD withdrawals to fill this section.

Entering 1099 investment income from combined documents by type, rather than by payor, is very difficult and redundant. Downloading files creates generic names without the opportunity to edit. I receive several 1099s for different accounts from the same processing house. Whether I download or enter manually, your procedure makes it onerous to verify the accuracy of information. I frequently cannot rename these files, making it impossible to confirm I've entered all information for each account. Very frustrating.

I spent several HOURS trying to delete a blank K-1 that appeared days ago, and it even kept coming back after deleting it including on the final screen to E-File. This is a common issue according to web reports. The Reviews topics don't seem to workk properly!

started out using turbotax a lot of years ago and liked the simplicity (remembering this is tax software) of the early versions. through the years the programs have gotten more difficult for a low computer IQ guy like me to the point where this year was a real struggle. this will probably be my last year with turbotaxrbotax

1. Several times my use of TurboTax Deluxe was interrupted with ads to pay more to get the features of TurboTax Premium. This is an annoying distraction. 2. At the completion of my Federal and State tax return preparation, I see that I must pay an additional Premium Service of $45 to have my FEDERAL tax filed. It would have been a better business ethic to make the change in cost for the 2025 Tax software known to the purchaser before that person purchased the product.

Brokerage Section was done terribly as it asks 169 times if the securities were digital assets. the fact that this section was done in a stock and brokerage section should've answered the question 169 automatically. This was my worst Turbo Tax experience yet.
