disappointed

I was unable to import TIAA financial information 1099B, etc and Charles Schwab same. You need to make this easier i bit disappointed i had to hand type all my stock trades along with buy dates. Also, connection seemed to hang when trying 2FA to verify me. I was fully logged in and still unable to import. I'm a bit unhappy having to be charged for efile for my state taxes trying to efile now and your server unable to accept. YOu need to integrate AI better into your chats. asked a reasonable question but your system didn't respond with even close to answer.

TurboTax Review

Easy to use and great way to do your taxes. The screens were slightly different this year in some categories, but overall it worked well. I did have to upgrade my system software prior to installing, but that proved not to be an issue. I had some additional items this year and the program walked me through them even explaining items I wasn't familiar with ease.

We love hearing that the process felt effortless for you. Taxes are complicated enough, so we’ve designed our interface to take the guesswork out of every step.

Turbo Tax - QCD Deduction

Good experience as usual. The only issue I did not get resolved or see the deduction for was the "Charitable Donation Deduction" for Non-Itemizers. I made $1500 in contributions by check or Direct Distribution from my qualifying retirement account. My AGI for 2025 Tax Year is $52,000 so I am eligible for a 0.05% credit ($1,500 - 250) of $1250. I did not see where that charitable donation was applied. Did I miss something on forms?

Product could be improved

I have been using Turbo-Tax software for a couple of decades. It is very useful but each year there have been glitches that could be fixed for the future but rarely are. For example, the interest on US Government Securities portion of mutual funds have always been reported as a percentage (BY T. Rowe Price, Fidelity, Schwab etc..), Turbo tax wants it to be entered as a dollar amount, necessitating calculations outside the software. Other tax software, such as H&R Block, do ask for the information as a percentage--making it straight forward to enter the data. Another issue this year, was that TT wanted us to file our State Taxes by paper --since our individual filing status for the state was different. We needed to prepare two Mock Federal returns etc--which is fine. Finally for printing and filing, TT was not clear about which Federal return to attach. The built in help was also not useful. A google search gave the answer. Another case of internal inconsistency was that--although TT insisted that we file the state taxes by paper, at later stages it kept asking whether we wanted to e-file. Even now the final file looks incomplete since there was no way to indicate that the paper copies have already been filed for the state....

TurboTax worked well

Program worked well. The packaging did not indicate there is a $40 fee to get a refund electronically deposited. An error in a 1099-R form did not indicate what the problem was until the final review was done. It just hilited the box. My actual 099-R has a value in box 9a and box 2b is not checked (same as the 2024 tax form was) Turbotax 2025 would not except that. I don't think TurboTax had this problem in 2024. Other than that, things worked well.

It’s great to hear you were happy with the service. We aim to keep our pricing fair for the level of tax expert guidance we provide, and we’ll certainly keep your comments in mind as we look for ways to add even more value.

2025 TURBO TAX VERSION was full of errors, glitche

I have been using for 20+ years. All excellent. I don't know what happened to the 2025 version. Full of changes causing glitches; I answered all questions and the answers were not populated on certain Forms 8606. The IRA/RMD calculations were not clear, etc., etc. It took me more than twice as long to be able to complete and finish. I was not a happy camper. Did Intuit respond nationally to explain what happened? I am wondering if 2026 will be the same. I may be trying out another service if Intuit doesn't explain what happened to all it's users. Thank you.

Software is glitchy this year

Unlike in prior years, the software failed multiple times while preparing my return. Twice it dumped all of the data and I had to start from scratch. Multiple additional times it crashed and had to restart. This AI editor of my review is also annoying.

Changes since 2024 are not good!

TurboTax no longer allows me to open any form I want and simply input the necessary information as has always been an option in the past. The "Open Forms" option is still there but it only gives me the options of the forms I have created through their "guided" preparation and it used to be every form that the IRS might be needing. As someone who is comfortable filing their own tax return, I really hate having to be guided through the process - all it does is significantly extend the time I had to spend to prepare my return. Bottom Line, if you know what you are doing then TurboTax is no longer a good option for you, unfortunately.

No help yet.

My Ohio Tax and School District tax were rejected. TurboTax promised a software after March 19. After an extended chat with your online help center, they gave me an 800 number to call which informed my that they can.t help me on Windows 10, and stopped. My computer is on Windows11, When I received a phoine number to call I expected a human voice and not a poor excuse for an answer, Thank you

Some bugs this year.

The investment screen was not intuitive and buggy. When looking at investments from the previous year, I would hit review, have it import the data and then it would return to the list of investments. Now the screen had two entries, both needed review. One was populated but the other was not. When I add another, other, investment and skipped the import, it would not let me edit it until I exited and reentered. Other than charging for state returns, it went smoothly.
