Suggestion for Improvement

If you are going to allow financial institution information transfers, then please link the numbers entered on each line on the 1040 to where it came from. IE: if line 3b says $16,668.00 link it to the specific data points that made up that number.

Great Overall but needs work on Rental Properties

Been using TT since 1998. A generally excellent product. The only thing I've ever found that needs to be fixed is how you handle personal use of vacation rental property. For example, if I use my property for 5% of the total rental days in 2025, TT assumes that same 5% personal use (and 95% business use applies to all past years. Not so. in 2024, my personal usage may have been 6% and perhaps it was 8% in 2023. TT's assumption that personal and business use percentages are the same every year results in errant calculations of depreciation. I realize this is all fixed in the final year of depreciation, but TT's method of handling this is wrong.

TurboTax Online price double the desktop price

I spent 2 hours doing the return on TurboTax OnLine because the desktop promoted it. When I was ready to file it said it would cost $327 dollar. Crazy Rip off pricing. So I had to just re-enter everything on the desktop version and the cost to file was so much lower. $45 for each state so that was $90. Plus $20 per state to file. $200 cheaper to file from the desktop. What a rip-off. Shame on you Turbotax.

Turbo quality was less than I remember

- Was not able to pull into previous taxes from competitor tax assistance software - Help was so-so in help area; pretty much generalized info, has to research myself; I guess it is a way to pay for more service. - Cheaper than the competitor software - When did you remove the free State Filing feature? Argh!! Well at least you filled the forms for me.

Good Program

The program is good except your program put the middle initial at the beginning of the last name causing the IRS Federal Return to be rejected. In the Personal Information, everything is correct. Its a program era which would not reprint correctly so the returns (state and federal to be mailed) had to be corrected by hand

Love TurboTax!

Turbo Tax has successfully taken me through years of owning a business, selling homes, retiring, managing savings, having 2 dependent children, college and loans. I have confidence in this program. Some of the questions were not clear to me when my information was different than what TurboTax was looking for. A big issue for me is the small font and poor contrast of text to background. With a visual impairment, it makes it very difficult to read and I may have to discontinue using TurboTax next year.

Flaw in software, double check your work

Software had me duplicate three 1099 INT entries. Fortunately I reviewed everything after its "error" checking stated everything looked good. I found the duplicates and deleted them. This could have cost me $300. Not happy with your software. May go back to TaxAct

Move to Online service not a pleasant experience

This year when I downloaded my Turbo Tax 2025, I was given the option to do the online version which would have saved my $20 state filing fee. I was never comfortable with the layout of the online version and then when I was ready to file, the online version had all of my banking info but didn't have the info, AGI, etc., I needed to file my 2025 taxes. I had to go back and download my 2024 return and transfer everything I had done online to the downloaded version. Filing my taxes with Turbo Tax this year was not a positive experience!

Product could be improved

I have been using Turbo-Tax software for a couple of decades. It is very useful but each year there have been glitches that could be fixed for the future but rarely are. For example, the interest on US Government Securities portion of mutual funds have always been reported as a percentage (BY T. Rowe Price, Fidelity, Schwab etc..), Turbo tax wants it to be entered as a dollar amount, necessitating calculations outside the software. Other tax software, such as H&R Block, do ask for the information as a percentage--making it straight forward to enter the data. Another issue this year, was that TT wanted us to file our State Taxes by paper --since our individual filing status for the state was different. We needed to prepare two Mock Federal returns etc--which is fine. Finally for printing and filing, TT was not clear about which Federal return to attach. The built in help was also not useful. A google search gave the answer. Another case of internal inconsistency was that--although TT insisted that we file the state taxes by paper, at later stages it kept asking whether we wanted to e-file. Even now the final file looks incomplete since there was no way to indicate that the paper copies have already been filed for the state....
