Every year it seems the software gets worse and there's less functionality too help oneself problem solve, understand one's entries and how they tie to forms/worksheets. I guess that's because Intuit/TT wants to upsell their services. The foreign tax credit piece is fraught with errors.

Some of the entries were glitchy... adding checks where they weren't intended. Same as last year -- you guys need to work on that. You make the process harder than it needs to be. Parts of the process is more confusing in the way you present it than it used to be.

I have been using Turbo tax for many years and only one year did I have problems with the program that I had to file online with one of the preparers. The company did not charge me the usual fee because it was a company fault. We live in a remote area and the internet is very sketchie and the program would not download. After (12 hours of trying and many consultations with Tech support and a wrong disk being sent it was deemed that if I were to get my taxes in on time I had to use the online service. The following year everything transferred to the new year taxes program without a hitch. We purchased a satellite system and the program now loads perfectly. Although this year I had to purchase a new computer to accomodate the new program.

I initially was concerned I would not be able to upload W-2 and 1099 information from financial sources. It was more difficult to find this year which lead me to wonder if Intuit was up to some of it's "upgrading gimmicking" again ?? Fortunately, after a few attempts, I found the option link to upload my information. I was verrrry happy !

I was very disappointed with Turbo tax this year. I've been using TurboTax for more then 15 years and always had a good experience. This year I did my daughters taxes and E-filed both Federal and State when I went back on to see if they were accepted and THEY ARE NO WHERE TO BE FOUND on my computer. Also had so many glitches when I did my return that it was very frustrating BECAUSE THERE REALLY WASN'T ANY PROBLEM it said no errors but wouldn't let me go further. Not sure if the reason for so many problems is that it now has to be downloaded as opposed to putting a CD Rom in your computer. I'm not sure that I will again next year.....

your payment process for State return is the most ridiculous process on earth. every year I have to deal with it. Then I create a refund on Federal to cover it and you charge $40 processing. No way to get from turbo tax program to intuit to pay the state fee. it opens a form that you cannot navigate from! I will not use turbotax again.

you made it complicated why not just let me enter next to my pension and retirement I didn't change income. I used standard deduction in 2024 it should have asked do I want standard deduction and took me straight there. been using a long time seem to be more complicated every year

To some extent, TurboTax seems to have gone downhill, but that may be due to the emphasis on doing work online (which I won't do). Given the complexity of the tax rules, Turbo Tax does a good job of walking through the items. However, it didn't properly import last year's documents, a review of the paperwork showed I had to go back and clarify something, and filing electronically require shutting down and restarting (unsuggested). Help is now online and not particularly useful.

There is quite a mess with 5 digits TurboTax PIN code. If you don't enter it then IRS rejects tax return with the error "IND-666-02 - If the Spouse SSN appears more than once in the e-File database, then 'PINTypeCd' must not have the value "Self-Select On-Line".". It actually caused tons of problems for me, a lot of back & force with IRS in order to figure out if there was any identity theft etc. The problem was that TurboTax online version doesn't allow to enter TurboTax 5 digits protection PIN (or at least I couldn't find where it's possible), which causes invalid headers in the tax return and the rejection from IRS.

The software itself was excellent as always but the need to use a windows 11 computer to run it was an absolute pain.. Upgraded my main computer from windows 10 to windows 11 but it ran so slow I had to roll back and find a spare barely alive slow laptop to do my taxes
