I have used Turbo Tax for many years and have found it to be very accurate. I did have a problem with year with one item on the State of Arkansas return. I had additional Car Sales Tax which it would not do the State Drop down to show Arkansas and to enter the amount. Lost a partial refund due to this program problem.

Interface and topic helps were awful and impossible to navigate. Program's help functions were useless. I sought phone help and two different women tried to help me figure out how to enter 1099-PATR information. First woman admitted defeat after 1.5 hours. We also could not get Intuit Meeting to work. The second woman finally figured out how to enter the info after 2 hours, but then we could not get Intuit Meeting to work either. I have used Turbo Tax for decades and navigating was intuitive, but no more. This was my worst experience. An extremely frustrated user of TurboTax Deluse.

Turbo Tax Deluxe use to be great and used it for decades. I had a CD with a person to guide you. Now its a download like any other online program. The questions are not easy to understand and there is no side bar to jump to a sub-section. You make people enter a lot of information, or skip constantly, before offering to take a standard deduction. You would think that after all these years, you would offer a discount to prior users. I expected more from such an expensive version of Turbo Tax.

As with last year (2024), I feel Turbotax has become a platform for revenue streams like tax advice, product upgrades, and audit insurance policies. The product has lost most of its in-program help features as if to steer users to live tax advice. It is easier for me to google the help I seek such as where to find K1 forms than look at the program's kaleidoscope help section on line.

Software worked fine. Forced to Upgrade to Windows 11 after purchasing. Didn't read the fine print. E-mail had glitch that wouldn't allow me to use cloud-based software without making changes to my computer... Paid a $18 penalty for underestimation, even though I used Turbo Tax last year.

Cons: 1) Doesn't work with Windows 10 2) some poorly written question that are either double negatives or combined questions that are confusing. 3) nag nag nag for more money! 4) always returns to main menu after each stupid thing, so you have to scroll all the way down to click continue. 5) when you have more than 1 distribution from the same financial institution, you can't tell which is which. it would be nice if they had more identifying descriptors. when asked why you don't want to use their online version, they only allow 2 responses, instead of multiple. Pros: 1) only system that works with Merrill Lynch. Otherwise I would use H&R Block. 2) Used to love turbotax. Wish I still did. 3) At least it pre-populated my info properly unlike last year.

Turbo Tax should be reported to the attorney general for extorting fees out of customers due to their credit card payment system bug that they have known about for years. The "month of expiration" field only shows months 1-7. Turbo Tax's remedy is to deduct the fee of $25 to efile your state tax return from your federal income tax refund for an additional fee of $40, otherwise you have to file by mail. Filing by mail is not optimal. It is criminal and inexcusable that a software company cannot figure out how to fix this payment processing problem.

This is the first time i've had an issue. I noticed TurboTax did NOT pulled my military retirement pay into my Virginia state return. The first $40,000 of my military retirement is tax deductible in the state of Virginia, but TurboTax did NOT deduct this. I caught the mistake, and had to manually pull up the form (760 ADJ) and populate it with the relevant information.

Our TurboTax expert, Tamara, was amazing. She persisted even when I could not phrase my question quite the right way. Eventually, she understood the question and helped me enormously. It made my whole day. However, the downloaded TurboTax software was not up to its usual standards. Language & explanations were poor. Could not import old tax returns. Could not address an issue about e-filing a state return. AI is only as good as its programmers. Hoping for better next year

The AI generated responses with pretty simple questions were not helpful. If I googled the question I could get better information from intuit or other resources. I would prefer to e-file but turbo tax did not support one of the SC forms and had to file the state by mail. It is not intuitive that you have to stay on the first screen you are not going to e-file the Federal return to get the option on the next screen to file the state by mail. Again the AI response was not helpful and had to google to get an intuit response.
