It should pre-populate name & address for payment

TurboTax could be better. When paying the $45 for an additional state (with a credit card), and then again when paying for the $25 e-filing, it asked for all my info (name, address, ... and then the name again). It should pre-populate all the info, which the software already has. I do not save my credit card info, but the name and address should still pre-populate because Intuit and the TurboTax software has that information already.

Turbo tax works ok if you know how to do taxes

It is much harder to use than in the past. I use the forms mostly and fill them in myself, and there is no way to open an new blank copy of a form once one has been opened and filled out. I had to go to the easy method to be able to make a duplicate form. Also once a form is completed and reviewed it should be marked as checked instead of leaving it as update.review.

TT website and auto enroll are absolute trainwreck

I've been using TurboTax to prepare my taxes for as long as taxes were available to be prepared from a PC. I have never had a reason to doubt the accuracy of my return, nor reason to doubt the integrity of the product. The advantage program and overall navigation of the website is brutally poor. The website is geared towards completing your return online and purchasing the upsell of assistance with your taxes. Add in the repeated attempt to upsell the audit defense and I'm so tempted to take another approach to my taxes next year. I am purchasing a license for the preparation of my taxes, I am not using the website and filing for free. Intuit should respect the fact that I'm already spending money for the license and give me the option to purchase assistance and/or audit insurance once, and only once. Not multiple times during the preparation of my taxes. This stuff is stressful enough without feeling like the company that I've already spent money with is trying to find any excuse/method to squeeze another $60 dollars out of me. Add into the frustration of the upsell is the trainwreck of their advantage subscription service. I have an intuit account that reflects that I've purchased some manner of tax prep software from Intuit/TurboTax back to 2018. I've been enrolled in the advantage plan since it was debuted. You get a notification that they will charge you for the product, but never provide you with an activation key, which is required for operation of the program. If it's up against tax time and you are struggling to figure out how to get this important info and purchase another copy of the exact same software, from your logged-in account, there is absolutely nothing that prompts you to activate the copy you've already paid for, it just takes your payment. Should the credit card that is on file for your advantage program expire, you get a handy email that this has happened. When you login to correct this condition, it saves your info, but doesn't necessarily process your payment for the current tax year. When you realize that this has happened and purchase the stand-alone product, your account does not have a valid form of payment on file. Even though that condition was rectified 15 minutes ago! I just really expect a professional software developer/ retailer to have their act together a bit better than this. But, at least they give me 6-8 opportunities to upsell tax advice during the process of filing my taxes!

Works Well

I've used Turbo Tax for years. Works well mostly. But on a student 1040, it missed the American Opportunity credit and I got an error message that was confusing, saying it couldn't transmit the forms until I corrected an enrollment status without telling me where I could do this.

No help yet.

My Ohio Tax and School District tax were rejected. TurboTax promised a software after March 19. After an extended chat with your online help center, they gave me an 800 number to call which informed my that they can.t help me on Windows 10, and stopped. My computer is on Windows11, When I received a phoine number to call I expected a human voice and not a poor excuse for an answer, Thank you

Long time Turbo Tax user

Everything goes rather smoothly until you get to the end of the return. It gets a bit confusing when you start to file the returns & print. Also, personally I think $40.00 filing fee is too much for the state return. I have used Turbo tax for many, many years and have recommended it to many friends but I continue to be upset with the state filing fee.

Will not do the On-line version Again

Used TT for many years. This year I filed using on-line - should have done if off line. Found it very unwieldy. Several times I would close out to research something and reopen my file only to find no edits had been saved. Would fix errors that were flagged and still they would keep coming back as errors. Felt like I was being rushed through.

Fidelity Compatibility Concerns

I didn't like the compatibility this filing season. I have my investment accounts through Fidelity and it seemed like things were missing. For instance, the foreign tax and income. If Turbo Tax can read my account to see my transactions, why can't it read the foreign tax I paid and my foreign income? Furthermore, I feel like there should be more companies that are compatible with Turbo Tax. Is the Intuit team doing every thing they can to be in sync with mortgage companies? Banks? Credit Unions? etc.?

Disappointing

I was unimpressed with the downloads feature as I was only able to download three documents. I was very frustrated with the interface. I was nearly done when Turbotax asked me to save my progress. It then glitched. When I opened the saved file it was empty, forcing me to start again. When I got close to finishing the taxes, I noticed that my state tax liability was ten times higher than it should be. I went through each module several times trying to figure out what was causing the liability to be so abnormally high. The software didn't provide a way to do this. So I had to start over again. All in all, it took over four hours longer than it should have to do my taxes this year.

Turbo Tax 2025

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years and have had no issues with accuracy. Software change from the prior year (2024) was different causing some initial confusion. Also, the interface needs to have an option to increase the fonts. The font size is too small.
