I have used TurboTax for the last 22 years. It has made the task of figuring out and filling my taxes much easier even as my tax situation has changed over the years. In my estimation it is a good investment. That doesn't mean there isn't some improvement that could be made.

I feel that TurboTax does pretty well overall. But some times it asks me for information from the previous years taxes that I think it should have been able to pull forward after gathering information from the file for the previous year. And sometimes it isn't clear about what information is brought forward, (like Capitol Loss carryovers, Passive Loss carryovers, and Foreign Tax Loss carryovers).

The 2024 Intuit TurboTax Premier product does not properly address the SECURE 2.0 Act, which was signed into law on Dec. 29, 2022, as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023, P.L. 117-328. Starting in 2024, unutilized 529 educational savings plan funds can be rolled over to a beneficiary’s Roth IRA without tax or penalty, subject to certain restrictions. The present TurboTax program treats all rolled over assets as an UNQUALIFIED distribution, both taxed and penalized. Please correct this issue in the TurboTax Premier product. For Apple users, this 2024 Intuit TurboTax Premier product freezes and crashes when attempting to print federal and New York returns and/or worksheets utilizing the software.

Clunky at best, and seems so outdated considering what you pay for. And having to so many built in adds to buy this, and buy that, what am I paying for with this outdated software. And none of my information imports well, and why do I have to enter in my name and address so many times, even for payments. I don't want you to save by payment information but you could at least ask if I wanted to use the same name and address.

not happy being charged for state return when it says i bought software includes the state at no cost, so you lied to people and ticked off that you didn't give me the 300$ motor vehicle credit. I may use another software to amend if its possible. Not happy with this product, this is the last year i have to include brokerage infor.

I had a problem with my Federal taxes: could not get my foreign tax credit. I called and spoke with Anita Case # 1545883956. She was terrific, very smart, figured out why I was not getting it as a credit but as a deduction. She guided me through the whole process, showed me how I could fill out Form 1116 and how to be able to put a number in the form - and I got it as a credit! She was so patient with me so friendly and so sweet.

I have been using TTTax since 1996 to present. I have filed complicated returns. Stock , rental housing, house sales and purchases, 403Bs, IRAs, etc. TTax has always come through with complete, accurate and correct tax returns. I expect to continue using TTax in the future.

I would have given it 4.9 Stars, but there are several things that are a little frustrating and could be fixed if someone was to focus on them. First of all, some of the changes in appearance format from 2023 to 2024 are not conductive to efficiently going through the input. Another example, is a very basic thing in that if your address is in a state that does NOT REQUIRE a State Income Tax submittal, stop saying/asking for it to be started or completed. There are several other items similar to this in the details of the forms or sections. So in general, I am very happy with the program.

Entering 1099B information changed from last year. Thought bubbles seem like cartoon created by GenZ, no consistency, segmented, difficult. 1116 foreign tax credit data should be entered when entering the 1099B data for consistency purposes. Should enter all of the data from one 1099B at one time: (interest, dividends, OID, capital gain/loss, and foreign tax credit), rather than sorting through multiple times for different sections. If you must do in separate sections, label the issuer so that the data can be found. Go back to selling program on Disk. Download took forever. Completing work in late March after K1's issued. Still adding updates after most of data entered. Raised the Question: Is the information added prior to the latest updates treated correctly?

The program recommended that I purchase the PA state return, which I did and after filling out the form it was recommended that I delete the PA state return and I did. PA has a reciprocal agreement with the state of NJ. I was charged for the PA download which I cannot use, I would appreciate a refund to my credit card for the charge.
