It would be very helpful if the program provided information about how to correct "errors". In my case, I was asked to provide an explanation for a specific line on a specific form. It took me a few hours of research to find the information. I guess this is why you are aggressively pushing "live tax advice" for $50. In addition, I was really infuriated to see that I am being charged a $40 fee to process my refund. This seems outrageous since I already paid something like $100 for the software, and I believe it is the IRS (not Intuit) who "processes" any tax refunds. And this information was revealed only at the time of pressing the button to file. I'm more than a little disappointed.

As transitions occur in employment, age, etc. we have oved from Turbo to Deluxe and this year to Premier. Each had its quirks, but this year was the first where I came close to needing to spend an addition $60 in order to have answered a question that should not have been so Byzantine. On the plus side, tallying investments (the reason for Premier) was easy (if time consuming). I expect I will be using Premier for the next tax year

I have used other tax prepare software for years and this year I thought I would try the "best one" out there, TurboTax Premier. Well, clearly not the best. It is OK in helping you do a return but is questionable as to ethics. The version I purchased said I could e file 1 State return for free, but you charged me $15 to file the Virginia State Return. I threw away the packaging, so I don't have it to prove to you, but I remember the free state filing feature or that implication.

I accidentally added Florida as my second income state. I haven't purchased it yet, and now I can't remove it unless I start a new return and re-enter all the information. I have several rental properties. After entering data for the first property, the line says: "End of your rental property input." It should say: "End of your [specific address] property input."

I've used TurboTax Premier for my federak and state taxes for ~20 years. In past years, I found errors in the program's ability to properly handle the taxation of in-state municipal bonds and in the calculation of the Form 1116 foreign tax credit, but this year I had no difficulty with the program for these, admittedly, common situations. The program worked well and had no glitches.

Two issues were troubling to me this year, one was editing cost basis on capital gains, especially stock dividends on gold and silver ETFs. Don't have much of either but 12 monthly amounts of stock dividends was a nightmare to add, I understand that I must but the editing process was very cumbersome. Another more serious issue was an ira RMD distribution for 20 thousand I had entered twice as two different distributions for the exact same amount and the review did not catch the duplicate. fortunately I did. John skalet. ps otherwise well done, I think I am on my 15th year of Turbo at least.

Several years ago I used two different tax software companies to do my federal taxes. TurboTax was easier and gave me more of a refund. I've stayed with TurboTax ever since. I don't engage with their tax experts as I feel the software is all inclusive and has excellent help and hints. I will stick with TurboTax as long as I feel their tax software is accurate and user friendly.

I've used Turbo Tax for years and I once sang its praises but I don't now. In my opinion the software is not the quality product it once was. This year the biggest frustration was trying to "undo" a faulty 1099 download from an investment company. Two (maybe 3) really nice turbotax software people tried to help and they couldn't figure it either. Finally one of them came up with a workaround. In later updates the problem may have been corrected but I've had enough similar software problems in last few years that I no longer believe turbotax is the gold standard for tax software

There is a serious shortcoming: Turbo Tax cannot completely upload long Fidelity Investment Forms 1099-B. I wasted many hours trying to fix this before coming up with a workaround. I used my Quicken data which, unfortunately, is not as accurate as the Fidelity Investment data.

Very frustrated that I was not able to delete the property tax form for SEVERAL WEEKS after completing everything else and wanting to file. MN STATE forced me to wait and file seperately (finally!) w/o that form but not until an "update" was ready in March! Perhaps it was this inability to file BOTH Federal and State together that cost me the promised $10 discount on said state filing. I am NOT happy with this default on your claim of that credit after purchasing the software at full price!
