Took me TWO days of being on the phone with tech support having purchased TurboTax from a third party (Amazon) ; instructions are not terribly clear for us older folks trying to navigate their laptops into areas like downloads or applications (which I'm told is part of the change from just inserting a disk and let it install on on its own) which used to be sooooo easy. Somebody needs to fix that. That said, when I was finally able to speak to several tech support people over those two hellish days, they were kind, patient, and GREAT. Yvette spent almost 2 hours with me and was very sweet to this old lady!!

I would give it 5 stars if it were not for the fact that Turbo Tax still forces you to create and then dele a Schedule C form when you enter a 1099-Miosc for Other Investment Income. This issue has been around for at least 4 years. It would be great if you could fix that. If you do, 5 stars for next year.

I have used this product for over 35 years, and you have preceded to make it more obnoxious to use. I have purchased an expensive product, and every time I go into the Application it makes me proceed to do the same update every single time. There are not that many 325MB+ updates every day. Do Better. And stop trying to 'Up Sell' at every turn. It's really getting old. From a longtime, very frustrated, loyal user.

I was not as happy this year, as in the past. I had downloading from brokerage firms difficulties, and had to process a couple times. It seems some numbers "changed" from one to the next. I had to do a careful review with records (hard copies) against what downloaded. I'm not sure how that was possible, and could have been "user error," but instructions seem less clear this year, somehow.

I made a 1031 (like-kind property) Exchange last year. Filing requires a Form 8824 that's available but its Step-by-Step is hidden and there's little help. AI said to Search for "like kind" to find and use Step-by-Step. You need to create the replacement Sch E property. You must study applicable Fed Form instructions to understand given up and replacement property prices, fees, basis, and depreciation. Use Step-by-Step to answer questions and enter correct values. More detailed guidance is needed. After completing the exchange interview, switch to Forms view to verify that the Form 8824, 4797, Sch E, and depreciations are correct for both properties. I spent hours learning and trying different choices and values to get an error-free 8824 and correct forms. I called several "Connect with an expert" most couldn't help. I finally reached an enrolled agent with years of experience. We spent 5 hours figuring out how to answer the questionnaire. Later, I found the replacement property's basis was wrong resulting in a serious error in depreciation.

I have been using Turbo Tax for ages, since long before it was an Intuit product. This year was my absolute worst experience and I doubt I will use it again next year. The Deluxe product is now pretty bare, so I had to get the Premier. Then it never asked for my IRS IP PIN, so my return was rejected and I had to to figure out where to enter it on the software because it doesn't show up in the usual questions. I know it used to be. Also I had questions about the program itself, nothing to do with taxes, but was directed to JustAnswer and a CPA, so more $$$. Seriously, I don't know what's happened to Turbo Tax, but it can't be any worse.

Estimated tax calculation routine needs work. I knew i needed to send in quarterly payments, because I owed nearly $3000 for 2025, But after putting in the required data, TT said "You don't owe any taxes for 2026" and would not calculate estimated payments. After a couple of attempts, I had to go into the forms view and work out the estimates there. I have nearly $1000/q in federal and $1000/q estimated tax payments. Why is step by step so inaccurate? And shouldn't Turbo Tax import the data it needs from my return (e,g. my agi and last year's taxes?) Entering Foreign tax is still not working well. It take sthe 1st country, then the first country disappears when the 2nd country is entered> I entered data for 8 or 9 countries, but when I looked at for view, it only said various. Confusing. I have used the Deluxe version for over a decade, but looking at the features on the box, it looked like I would have to buy Premier to handle my investments and foreign taxes. But Premier looks like last year's deluxe with a significant price increase.

The UI/UX on this version of TurboTax was terrible. It started off by constant reminders to do taxes online. I don't want to! The section on income/investments was confusing and unclear as to what was done and what needed review. The app constantly threw modals up asking for feedback. Just stop. Also, the typeface and leading were terrible small/tight and not adjustable.

I have been using TurboTax since 2001 and it gets better each year. I have yet to run into a tax situation that TurboTax was not ready to handle. I love being able to switch back and forth between "Forms" and "Easy Step" which guides me through a comprehensive tax prep interview if desired. I also love the help and explanation info for each form, as well as the online Q and A. The fact that it integrates Federal and State tax forms is amazing. It runs quickly and flawlessly on my Mac.

I've been using various editions of TurboTax Desktop for around 30 years. I'm both very comfortable using it and confident with the results. The interface is great, allowing for both guided and direct updates. The ability to download forms directly into TT is fantastic. eFiling has never been an issue. I've use TT for both business and personal taxes, and I've filed returns in PA, NY, and NC. The product just works.
