I bought this unit to replace my much smaller generator which could only support two appliances at a time. This unit supports one heat pump, an electric dryer or cooktop, or several other appliances and lights. It arrived just in time for the hurricane season to fire up with Hurricane Beryl.

Noise level isn’t horrible for a generator of this size and output, I was pleasantly surprised. I had the generator put together (minimal assembly) out of the box in under 30 minutes with oil and gas. Started on the first attempt with the draw cord. Shut it down and started again with the remote start feature without any problems. The only thing I haven’t tried is running it off propane but have no doubt it’ll be just fine. So far it’s a great generator being used for home and RV trips. It’s bulky and heavy but good luck finding something this powerful for under 200lbs.

instructions good, included stuff pretty complete so good, starting went good...the kinda weird #1 why a remote when you are supposed to shut off fuel and AC power to shut down can't do that with a remote, if you do it right can't start it either B+ should be off...#2- oil-they send a quart and the instructions say 1.1 qt. so why not either make it 1qt. or send 1.1 qts ?? #3 noise level is weird too- the db is as expected but the weird part is the level seems the same outside the shop as it is 100ft.away. I know that this seems wrong but hay that is the way it is.......

Received generator in perfect condition. Very nice build quality. Hooked up to propane and fired right up. I'm impressed with the owner manual that came with it. It was one of the most informative manuals I have seen for equipment. We will be using the generator for when the power company shuts off the power for fire danger.

We bought the Generator prior to arrival of storm. It was delivered on the promised date. Delivery person helped to unload the generator and move it to the designated spot. We tested both fuels and the remote switch. everything worked on first attempt. We we actually lost the power, the generator delivered as promised.. Ours was the only 2 houses on the street with lights, heating and refrigerator on. Happy with the purchase.

Just got the generator and it took all of 30 mins to get it running. I like that it has a trickle charger and a remote start these are really convenient to have. Only issue is that the oil is not enough for the generator, it's says 1.1 liter but i had to buy another quart to finish filling it up. I'm still loving it though and i'll be ready for the next Hurricane in FL

I bought this generator for my father to hook up to his house transfer switch. After a lot of searches and reviews on other generators, decided on this model for the output wattage and its dual fuel capability. I traveled to see my father this weekend and got a chance to unbox the generator and try it out. Easy to setup and runs great. Haven't had a lot of time to use so time will tell. So far, my father is very happy with this generator. There are only two issues I have with the generator: 1. The first problem is not with Westinghouse or the generator itself, the problem is with the shipping company that delivered the generator to my father. During shipping the freight company must have used a fork lift to move the generator or they dropped the generator on its end. When I unboxed the generator, I noticed that the frame on the left side wheel end was bent or dimpled in and the powder coating paint was cracked at the bend in several places. Also, the left wheel is tilted slightly inward due to the frame being bent. It is not bad to where it affects any movement or operation, it is just cosmetic and I wouldn't even consider sending it back for that. I took some flat black paint to touch up the paint chips. 2. The second issue I noticed is with the LP regulator orange protective cap and lanyard. When the generator was assembled, the technician who assembled it, cross-threaded the cap to where it was very tight to remove and the plastic cap threads are now worn out. Also the tech tightened the cap lanyard attaching screw to the frame too tight to where it ripped out a side of the plastic lanyard attaching screw hole.

Initial test shows that the generator works seamlessly with my manual transfer switch and propane input. Assembly was easy, but female portion of bolts that hold the feet have a defect and I couldn't attach one of the bolts. The generator started up first try, and although loud (expected) I look forward to a powerful solution next time the power goes out.

After we lost power for a week following a major storm, I decided we had to pony up for a portable generator. The Westinghouse house brand is widely praised so I went with the biggest unit that could still fit in the corner of my garage (the WGEN12000DF was simply too big). I have only done some initial testing, but so far this thing is very impressive! Well built, great features, and the ability to use both gasoline and propane is excellent. Also love the remote start feature. My only negative about the WGEN9500DF is the fact that it allows up to 23% THD. I have numerous sensitive electronics so there is definitely a concern there, but otherwise this thing is excellent.

When this generator works it is a 5. However, I use it for power outages only and it has only worked once when needed. By just sitting outdoors, with the "Westinghouse" cover, it becomes unusable. The first time I needed it, it was totally dead. Turned out to be a bad control panel [covered under warranty]. It had only been started once, when I received it. After it was repaired, it ran one time in an "as needed event", ran very well, which is why I rate it as a 5 "when working". But needed it recently and once again it is dead [battery @13v]. In the shop again under extended warranty. Generator is not much good if it doesn't work when needed.
