After thorough search of available generators, I bought this one based on very favorable reviews. It has all the features that I need, particularly the dual fuel capability to run on propane or gasoline. It has up to 12,000 watt capacity and 4 outlets for 120 volt/20 amp and one for 120/240 - 30 amp and one for 120/240 - 50 amp which can feed back into the breaker panel to power a lot of the house. The remote fob start and the push start are alternatives to pulling the handle. The unit comes with a trickle charger to maintain battery readiness. One necessary item will be a shelter or supported cover to allow the generator to operate in rain or snow, since the manual states that it should not get wet when running. It has an ergonomic handle attached to make wheeling the unit a lot easier. A necessary item considering its size and weight. It is a substantial unit, weighing 200 lbs and requires a little heavy lifting to put on the wheels and support feet. The surrounding frame is metal as are most of the components, which appear very sturdy. I just received it today and will see how it performs during a power outage or need for remote electric service. Based on other reviews, I anticipate that it will perform well.

We went through the deep freeze in Texas earlier this year and don't want to do that again. After a lot of research and reading reviews, we feel confident the WGen9500DF will meet our needs should that happen again. The unit is well built and solid. The manual is easy to read and understand, which is definitely helpful. Considering the size and power of the generator, the noise level is not bad. Easy to move with good solid wheels, this is a generator that should serve us well for years.

I just purchased this in June. We haven’t had a power outage yet but have tried it out and it works great. I was going to get a generac but the install and permitted was a nightmare. I gave up on it. This is a great alternative and 1/3 of the price.

After shopping for a generator for a while and doing a lot of research, I chose this dual fuel model from Westinghouse. Trusted brand, plenty of power and smooth running. It is so solidly built and well finished compared to previous generators I’ve owned. I highly recommend it and very happy I purchased it.

This is the best generator in its class and has the most features of any other generators that are portable (i.e. not whole house generator) including the possibility to use a "Smart Switch"! It runs great and has good pure Electricity! You wont go wrong buying this one, it is money well spent, and I would argue its even an investment in your future security!

I wanted a duel fuel generator that could be used for multiple applications: Home Power back-up, RV power, Job site power. I found the WGen9500DF on line, and after hours of research believe it provides the best features for the money. In the last Hurricane, it was difficult to get gasoline and so we could only run our generator half of the time.... Having the LP fuel source will allow us to store/stockpile more fuel and be able to run the unit 24/7. Having all 3 plug styles is also great for all the applications we plan to use it for. The big bonus is electric start and a wireless key fob! Looking forward to many years of useful life out of this unit!

Arrived undamaged. Took about 15 minutes to set up. Filled with oil and gas and oppened full valve. Waited about 1 minute for gas to fill fuel bowl. Pressed the started button and it started up and followed breaking instructions. The 9500 is heavy and a little louder than expected but very happy with the overall performance. Would decently recommend to anyone that need a good size generator to power whole house.

We were deeply humbled when this last hurricane hit us last month. We were no strangers to hurricanes, severe storms, and flooding. So when the power went out at 5 am, we were expecting it to return by noon. It took over 5 days for Centerpoint to restore power to our house. This was a rude awakening, especially since temperatures were in the 90's with 90% humidity. We lost a lot of our frozen game, even though we grilled for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. After extensive research, we settled on this Westinghouse Generator. We have a liquid propane refilling station a couple of miles away, which made this generator a no brainer. After running it through it's break in process, we were confident it would serve us well once the next storm hits us. Kinda bummed it doesn't have a 12v output but with all of the plugs, it shouldn't be a problem. I appreciate the spark plug cross reference chart for other brands, just in case we need to replace it in an emergency.

I bought this generator last year and have had the occasion to use this multiple times since. The ease and convenience of startup and operation was very surprising and the remote start fob is a big bonus. Fold up/down handle makes it quite easy to maneuver to your desired location and tuck away to minimize the space needed.

Being able to switch from gasoline, to propane, to natural gas is invaluable. This generator comes with everything you need to start it right up. Has all the hoses, connections and even oil. Connects flawlessly to your natural gas (we used our dryer connection), or a propane tank. It is quite loud, but that is to be expected with this much power.
