hard to set up

Got this for my birthday, the needs for the lightning detector are very picky but overall I got the whole thing set up, the buttons although are small and sometimes don’t pick up your touch. Overall great product just had small complaints.

Older version was great. This new one is horrible. - Extremely difficult user interface - tough "buttons" are very vague - Ticker is lousy to read - think 1970s LEDs Wish I had not bought.

They don't make 'em like they used to.

Received as a Christmas gift from my daughter three years ago. I have had to bring the components together and remove batteries. so it could reprogram 10-12 times. I would never buy one of these.

Have to constantly re-program.

The unit doesn't work. We try to reset it daily.  It'll work for about 5 minutes and then doesn't. We've had it for 4 months. It was a total waste of money.

Nice features but it stops working a couple months after the warranty ended.

Unreliable

This is our 3rd in 10 years.  I picked this one because it was an upgrade from out last AcuRite.  The screen was stationary and it had the lightning detection.  We installed it properly but the temperature is off, the rain gauge is really off and the lightning detector goes off all the time.  If I turn my porch light on or off, it reads it as a lightning strike.  On one sunny day we had over 375 lightning strikes.  I finally took the batteries out and it sits on the corner table as a joke.  I wish I could return it.

Disappointed

Ordered this for my husband who likes to keep up-to-the-minute with what's going on with the weather.  We had an older model that finally gave out after a number of years and when he saw this one with the lightening detector, he just had to have it.  So far, it's working great.  We had a storm a couple of nights ago and lightening was detected several times 5 to 11 miles away from the house.  Needless to say, hubby was thrilled.  Good product!
