Salty & Greasy!

I wanted to like these but I just can’t. I coined them up and fried them slightly for breakfast - the amount of grease that cooked off was crazy ( for three sausages )! And salty?! Good lord! I will try to salvage the remainder of the sausage by incorporating it into gumbo, jambalaya and other dishes that call for sausage - and not adding any additional salt. Will not purchase again.

Definitely the Best Sausage Ever!

OMG ... you will love this sausage for all the right reasons!!! It isn’t salty, it has great flavor, and it freezes well. I had never heard of this company but I had an opportunity to sample at the store. After one bite I was hooked and you will be too!

Tough Casings

First time purchase and most likely the last. The casings on these sausages are tough as leather. I understand they are fully cooked and after reading other reviews, took care to only heat the sausages and not over cook them. The casings are inedible. I removed the casings from the remaining sausages and I found them to be really greasy but the taste was not bad. Labor intensive food preparation is not my thing so no more Kiolbassa for me.

Flavor was good but the skin was so tough we couldn’t chew it. Also, they were so greasy. Tried cooking some, then tried frying some, & then grilling some. Even on low heat, there was so much grease the grill was in flames. Had to turn off the gas & throw them out.

Truly Exceptional! Great Flavor & Texture.

These are so good, they are the only sausages I will buy now. The cheaper varieties have an over-processed texture and rely heavily on salt and fat for flavor. Kiolbassa sausage tastes like real food and has a very nice "bite". They are also free of MSG and gluten, so they are a good fit if you cook for people with these sensitivities.

Love these sausages

Love these in a sausage wrap! Our trick to a perfect cook, soft casing and no grease: Line the bottom of a glass baking dish with several layers of paper towels. Prick both sides of sausages several times with a fork and place on paper towels. Cover dish tightly with foil and place in a 250 degree oven for 2 1/2 hours. Remove and wrap in a flour tortilla with mustard and a little hot sauce. YUM!

Inconsistent (High) Quality

Sometimes these sausages are a 5*, hands down. Sometimes they are so so fatty they should get a 3. However, they are still some of the best dinner sausages I have ever had, even as a 3, and while they might be a bit on the pricey side for some, are absolutely delicious.

CASING TOO TOUGH TO BITE INTO

The casing on these are too tough to bite into. " I should have read the reviews" but who would have thought that you could not bite into it. How are you supposed to eat them? I just threw $14.?? away. Don't know how they expect anybody to eat them.

Ok but…

They taste good. I agree with another reviewer that the skin is thick. However, what disappointed me was there with almost each bite, I bit down on small bone chips. I can’t finish the pack due to this. I have never had that issue with the name brand product.

Way too salty!!

I have no idea why it is necessary to use so much salt in this sausage other than to make it have a longer shelf life. The sausage has a good flavor but it is so over-salted that it becomes sickening for my husband and I after a couple of bites. I love salt but this much is over the top, so I won't be purchasing this again. (Kiolbassa could easily cut the salt content in half) Offer a lower salt version and I will reconsider.
