I lived in California up till 20 yrs ago and these tamales are as close to the ones I got when I was there. I love them, I would love to have them back in the stores PLEASE!!!!! I really would like management to call me or email me as why you no longer carry them..

I also like your Carnitas which can be made in several different ways, from chili Verdi to tacos el pastor and even add BBQ sauce However, just plain Carnitas crisped in a pan served with rice and beans. I only wish I could buy your product line in my area Frederick, MD 21701. Your web says they are sold a Giant food they are not.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my review. The Del Real Tamales with Pork in Red Sauce were definitely delicious and quick and easy to prepare. I liked how they were ready to go and had individual packs of 3 within the larger package. They taste good even when microwaved but really are best when you can spend the extra time to steam them. They have a good amount of pork in each of them to make them filling and the red sauce adds nice flavor to the whole package.

I do not like these as much as the old ones. I do not like the paper husks . They seemed a little off to me and could not figure out why. Never could find an expiration date on the package. The old ones were like you were eating in a restaurant, these were dry.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review of Del Real Foods Pork In Red Sauce Tamales. So let me start with that I have purchased this product before at my local Sam's club before and they are top notch for a commercial company doing Tamales. They are not homemade greatness but they are pretty close and very good. They are not dry and have plenty of pork filling in them. What is also nice is that there are 2 packages of 5 in the bag so you can store and eat the other 5 later. The Masa is whole corn and has a very good consistency and the flavor is again quite good. I do need to add some more sauce to them as that's just the way I like it and it adds a little more heat to them. I am happy that they are not too spicy as my girlfriend would like them if they were and I can always add sum heat to most anything. The only thing I could say that is not good is that I wish they had other flavors and or a variety pack. With 10 Tamales in the entire package it's like a little more than a dollar a piece which in these times is a steal as I don't mind paying 2 or 3 dollars a piece for genuine homemade tamales for a local lady that sells them here. So would I buy these again, you bet and I have, this is my 4th package and will continue to purchase these as long as Sam's Club keeps on selling them. Yum Oh and of course they pair really well with a Dos Equis or 6. Enjoy.

For me, the filling to masa ratio is what can make or break a good tamale. There needs to be around 50/50 and these were really nice. Great filling flavor and a nice creamy texture on the masa.

I choose to microwave over steaming instructions and it was ready to eat in about 3 minutes. I really enjoyed shredded pork which was cooked in a nice spicy red sauce. The outside masa was pretty soft and not dry as some tamales can be. I added sour cream and fully satisfied. Price point wasn't too bad at just about $1.50 a piece. I would buy this product again.
