Would have given 5 stars except it is somewhat hard to push the handle down to lock it. Otherwise a great safe with lots of room inside and accommodates a home office very well!

i bought this to secure valuables in my home. well built and at a 163 lbs you will need to grown men to carry it, but use a hand truck to prevent injuries. great buy for the money.

This safe was perfect for the size that I was looking for. I didn't rate it a 5 star because when we took the shipping straps that were around the actual safe it pulled some of the paint off. We had to touch it up with black metal paint. It was just to much of a problem to return it back to Sam's.

Purchased 04/27/13, Alb., NM Sam's. I got it home and into my bedroom with help of a friend. The next day I opened it ready to start transferring documents, treasured old, old photos of great, great grandparents down to my immediate family and some ammunition. The safe stunk so bad I couldn't believe it. One of the shelves was WET - only one. NOT water (the box was completely ok, no hint of any kind of oil or liquid on it). It was an oily wet but kind of sticky also. It had 8 3x5 packages of dessicant inside. I left the door open all day. That night I had to close the safe after I thought I was going to get sick, opened a window with a fan and slept all night with the window open. I called Sam's the next morning and they were willing to exchange it and give me a $50 gift certificate (I live 140 miles from Alb). They set a new one aside, opened it and found the same smell but no wet shelves. The floor guy told my rep (a very nice lady, initials JG) that they all smelled like that until the GLUE smell went away. We decided I would keep the one I have and let it air out more and see what happened and if not pleased would exchange it for a new one. It is now outside in plain view of my neighbors and others with the door wide open to the sun in hopes the smell will go away. I just checked (in the sun almost 2 hours) and it still smells. As stated previously, even at 165 pounds the guy who helped me with getting it into my house, lifted it by himself (NOT a good idea) from my pickup to the ground. Yes it is steel but I don't think it would take much to get it open. IF it didn't smell, I think the value is 4 stars. Look on line at the BIGGEST online retailer and they are over $500. But all the trouble and not knowing if the chemical odor will harm my old photos I don't think is really worth it. The rubber seal around the door goes down both sides and across the bottom in ONE piece so that is good but there is no seal at the top - is this waterproof or water resistant. Don't know. Buy at your own risk. Sam's gives great customer service at least that's what I have found. I also sent Sentry an email complaining of this as well. We'll see if they respond.

Not that impressed. The rods don't line up and for me to close it I have to push the door shut with my feet while safe is against the wall. It is also very hard to open. I can't even do that. My husband has to do it. Heaven heip me if I'm alone some day and have to do it. We have kept it because I needed it in a hurry and since I had to pay to have it delivered, no way I was going to pay that to take it back.

Last night I went to open my Sentry Safe and the door handle became disengaged and I could not open my safe!!!!

This is everything it advertised to be. A couple of scratches from shipping but well built and worth the money.

I have 2 safes. Very happy with both. Easy to program and easy to operate. I like the space and the ease of installing.

I find this safe very strong. However I am unable to open it as the lights are no longer coming on and I have no idea how to use the key
