This price blows other retailers out of the water, whether they be brick and mortar or ecommerce. Nice quality product. I bolted it to the floor. With one bolt, I located a floor joist. The other bolt, the supplied vinyl fastener was garbage (no surprise), so I just got a scrap piece of 2"x4" from the garage, and drilled/bolted through the subfloor into that.

I bought this because my neighbor got robbed and the theives walked off with two safes that had firearms and other important things inside. I don't want my firearms used in a crime, so I started shopping better safes than the ones I already had. It fit perfect in my closet and it bolted to the floor within minutes using the correct tools. Even if someone was able to detach it, the thing takes 2 grown men to carry, and its still not an easy task at 163 pounds of steel. I feel comfortable that my things will be safe if the bad guys come to defile my house next.

Ordered this office safe online for free pickup at my local Sams Club. Order was ready for pickup the next morning. Speedy checkout on their self-checkout lane. Took two of us to lift it into my truck. Well-packaged with reinforced bands; no damage to the safe when unpacked. The only caution I can give is be EXTREMELY careful when you grab the two shelves -- the felt covering DOES NOT wrap under the sheet metal shelf! Very sharp and you can slice your fingers!! The felt cover wraps under the front of the shelf cuz of the front facing, but not the back. Be very careful when you handle them. Quick fix-- I used duct tape the entire length of the back and front to cover the sharp edges; plus it adds extra taping to prevent the felt from ungluing in the future. Easy to enter your own combo code and easy to open with "church key" if batteries die on you. Plenty of space for jewelry & documents. Comes with hardware to bolt to concrete or wood. Excellent buy!

Safe has all the basic features that one might ask for in a safe. The only shortcoming we found was the shelves are weak and cannot hold much weight. Forget about storing coins on the shelves.

Only had safe for short period. I've had a couple of problems, but have resolved them. I had difficulty getting the battery cartridge back into the lock mechanism...small clip broke on first try...when setting up. Worked around the problem. Weather (water) strip around door makes closing a bit hard. Must be shut tightly to get lock handle into full "vertical" position to activate lock. Fit is very tight to provide water tightness I presume and may take more effort than some people would have to accomplish. Combination lock works well and having a factory pre-set (permanent) combination in addition to personal combo, is good idea. I used hex-head bolts and nuts to secure safe rather than the supplied lag-bolts. My choice though, either would work.. Set-up was pretty easy, but plastic parts are a concern. Lock mechanism must be removed in order to utilize 3-4 inch (backup) key. Haven't had to use key after initial set-up. All in all, it met my expectations and should provide very good security for price paid, but haven't yet had any attempt to break into it! DC

For the money, I think this is a great deal. The safe is plenty big to hold a bunch of stuff. I put some ammo, some family documents, and some jewelry inside. I like that it's an electronic combo, that I can choose the code, and that it has a key to bypass the combo if I ever forget the code. Two things I do not like, so I deducted a star from my rating. The first is that even though it is fairly heavy, it slides around very easily on carpet. I believe it actually wouldn't be too hard to steal it if I choose not to anchor it to the ground. My whole home is carpeted so I wasn't planning on anchoring to the ground, but I may end up doing it just to keep someone from gliding away with it. You can only anchor the bottom of the safe, being able to anchor the side to a wall would be a much nicer feature in my opinion. The second thing I dislike is that it is very hard to close and have the lock engage. I read on their web site that this is due to the thick waterproofing that the door may be hard to close and once closed hard to open. I'm a strong guy, and I feel that I'm having to apply way too much torque on the handle to get it to lock and unlock. Other than that, seems like a good buy. I really bought it more for the fire protection, so for that purpose I hope I never have to test the safe out.

I recommend reading the manual provided with the Sentry Executive Fire and Water safe before purchasing. First thing it tells you is: "Warning Do not store delicate items directly in your safe. SentrySafe products which offer fire protection have a proprietary insulation that has a high moisture content. In addition, the SentrySafe advanced safes close airtight to offer water resistance, which may cause moisture to accumulate inside your safe." It goes on to recommend to place jewelry with working parts, watches, stamps, or photos in an airtight container inside the safe. Another warning advises "this safe is not intended to protect computer floppy or diskettes, cartridges and tapes, audio or video cassettes or photo negatives." This information should have been readily available on the box or online, before I wrestled it home. If you want a decoy safe to maybe confuse the burglars, then this safe might be for you. Don't miss the irony of having a water tight safe where the only possibility of water damage comes from inside the safe. Obviously, I'm returning this safe.

I own 5 of these safes. The first 3 were a 3 star rating although customer support has always been poor. the newest ones are horrible. break and jam without little effort. strongly recommend against this product. im searching for an alternative

I was very excited to purchase this safe for this price. After reading these reviews I did a search of break into SentrySafe and watched two different locksmiths use a rare earth (not hard to find) magnet and open the safe in seconds. That doesn't make me feel safe and I am getting a refund as a results. It took me hours to find one that will meet my needs but I finally did, and it's a spin dial only. Sentry Safes might fit your needs, but I am surprised that with this knowledge out there, they have not fixed this FATAL FLAW!

We bought many of these for many locations, all have broken within a few months at some point. Usually the digital pad that gets messed up or the handle breaks. Called so many times for each, kept getting told that the problem has never been heard of. I am done with them. I don't recommend to anyone.
