I 've had a small SentrySafe for many years and had been very satisfied.  The time has come to upgrade to a larger safe and after extensive reviews and comments about other company models at this price point, I selected the EF3428E.  Very pleased with the construction and dealing with the SentrySafe organization.  I saw other reviews that mention the inside lining was little loose.  Mine was also, but this helped when I needed to lift it when bolting it down and running LED lighting.  I just used a little contact cement when done and sealed it in place.  Would buy again.

Easy to use, completely Fireproof

We were very pleased with this! We both sleep better knowing that important documents and treasures are safe. The factory code did not work! so we used the key. After many failed attempts to use the factory code I pressed the little red reset button. This worked. This advice should have been in the instructions.

Very pleased

I purchased an Executive Safe a few years ago and am happy to share that this has been a great little safe.  It is small enough to be installed in a closet, yet has sufficient space for storing important documents, a couple of handguns and jewelry.

The electronic lock is simple to program and has never failed to open.  I used to change the battery once a year, but installed a Lithium 9V battery at last change out.

In comparison to other similar products, I think the Sentry Safe is the best option based on features, size and price point.

Great Safe!

Perfect for me needs as a pistol safe. Needs FRESH batteries or you will need the key. Handle gets loose and plastic plug is impossible to get out without breaking but it is cosmetic only and black tape works fine to replace. 3 shelves allows me to store magazines, pistols and ammo.

Use fully charged batteries

Safe has all the basic features that one might ask for in a safe.  The only shortcoming we found was the shelves are weak and cannot hold much weight.  Forget about storing coins on the shelves.

Good Enough to Recommend

Have only just installed the safe, so really no basis for a full review, but other than having to wrestle a pretty heavy and bulky package down my steps by myself, the safe was straightforward to set up, and the locking mechanism is functioning smoothly and interior is quite sufficient for my needs.

Easy to set up

Overall I like this safe.  The shelves are adjustable and removable.  Its very sturdy.  Looks good.  Lots of room.  Keep in mind when it says... •ETL verified water resistant in 12" of water for 72 hours.  That really means 12 inches of water from the floor not above the top.  It could probably survive about 18 inches of water.  However the water proof seal does not go across the top of the door; only across the bottom and the sides.  So it cannot be submerged totally even for a few minutes.  The plus side to that is it doesn't tend to build up moisture inside.  Like some other owners.
Now I did have problems with the keypad not opening the door.  However it turned out to not be the key pad - its the door mechanism.  I did not want to lug 163 pounds back to the store so I opened it up with the key and took the back panel off the door to investigate.  Turns out there is a pin the must drop down to allow the door lever to operate.  You have 4 seconds to do so after entering your code on the keypad..  If the handle is even slightly to the left (It opens left not right) the mechanism presses against the pin and the door cannot open.  I have to tug the handle to the right before I enter my code so the pin is free to drop.  There is no adjustment inside and I could file off the end of the door mechanism, but the method above works fine for me.  It would have been helpful to know which way to move the handle while I was struggling with it, but the instructions just say "enter your code and open the door".

Overall good but some bad.

Safe looks sturdy; it's believable that it is both fire proof and water resistant when locked. The issue is that the handle worked to open the safe only twice on the day of delivery.  There has been NO response to the customer care center on how to proceed with return or correction of problem.  I will not be stuck with a $500 safe that does not function as intended.  This issue will be resolved.

Looks can be deceiving.

I own 5 of these safes.  The first 3 were a 3 star rating although customer support has always been poor.  the newest ones are horrible.  break and jam without little effort.  strongly recommend against this product.  im searching for an alternative
