The safe was great for its size for home use. It is a bit expensive but for the features and size it seems equivalent to other manufacturer products. It came with two adjustable felt covered shelves. The skeleton keys are necessary if the battery operated keypad failed for any reason, which is great. But also a security risk if you happen to keep them any were near the safe where they could be found. The keypad is plastic device that takes AA batteries. Nice that there is factory key that can be used if you forget your custom key configuration. Again, keep that with the skeleton keys, not in location accessible near safe. I still bought water/fireproof sleeves for our documents just in case as well as documents put on to shelf not close to base. There are two holes on the back which do not seem to be blocked. For mounting I assume to back wall. Plus the two holes for bolting to floor. So just in case got sleeves as extra layer protection for the docs. The thinness of the base where the bolt holes are of concern to me. Meaning, I could rock the safe a little as the thinness flexes a little after bolted down through the. But, if someone plans to try to take the safe it will cause them some effort. Enough to make noticeable noise if you are home. Also those holes even with the little rubber disks provided still is a possible water breach. Would be better to have a more pliable plug to use over the bolt heads. There were reports of people using circular saws to gain access into the safe. But then again any safe is likely be accessible given heavy duty saw The only complaints are the insufficient screws (plastic anchor) provided (we got more appropriate cement wedge anchor bolts). The other minor complaint is the interior openings at base for bolts, leaves holes in the fabric. It would have of been nicer had another fabric covered plate to lay over bottom been provided to cover them up. So far its great. But time will tell.

I 've had a small SentrySafe for many years and had been very satisfied. The time has come to upgrade to a larger safe and after extensive reviews and comments about other company models at this price point, I selected the EF3428E. Very pleased with the construction and dealing with the SentrySafe organization. I saw other reviews that mention the inside lining was little loose. Mine was also, but this helped when I needed to lift it when bolting it down and running LED lighting. I just used a little contact cement when done and sealed it in place. Would buy again.

I purchased an Executive Safe a few years ago and am happy to share that this has been a great little safe. It is small enough to be installed in a closet, yet has sufficient space for storing important documents, a couple of handguns and jewelry. The electronic lock is simple to program and has never failed to open. I used to change the battery once a year, but installed a Lithium 9V battery at last change out. In comparison to other similar products, I think the Sentry Safe is the best option based on features, size and price point.

Perfect for me needs as a pistol safe. Needs FRESH batteries or you will need the key. Handle gets loose and plastic plug is impossible to get out without breaking but it is cosmetic only and black tape works fine to replace. 3 shelves allows me to store magazines, pistols and ammo.

Have only just installed the safe, so really no basis for a full review, but other than having to wrestle a pretty heavy and bulky package down my steps by myself, the safe was straightforward to set up, and the locking mechanism is functioning smoothly and interior is quite sufficient for my needs.

The good news is the safe is a good size for important documents, small items as well as securing a handgun. So far access to the safe using the elec keypad functions well, as some other reviews mentioned that keypad could be an issue. The disappointing news is that the interior of the safe, behind the carpeted walls, appears to be constructed of drywall, (this must be where it gets its fire resistant qualities). However when the safe arrived, the shelving brackets (4), are just screwed into the drywall of the safe walls. No anchors, so the screws had backed their way out - quality control issues - but then again the safe is manufactured in China so expectations should not be very high. So, thinking that customer service would be of assistance I discovered that customer service must be extremely backlogged and are pretty much unable to answer any phone calls. I think it can be a decent safe, but you may want to look elsewhere.

It's a great safe, but you have to air it out for a week at least. The chemical smell is so strong at first, but it goes away after about a week of airing, I stuffed some car air fresheners to finish the job. It's a little tight to close too. That's why I only give it four stars.

Actually, I have 2 of this safe. One I bought a few years ago and the other recently. The size and function of the safes fits my needs and space and offers good protection for my environment. FWIW ... I supplement the safe's fire rating with fireproof bags and satchels for the most valuable documents and other small items. My only comment for improvement is to make the instructions for use a bit more clear ... for example the number of pass codes available and the use of codes for other entry.

We really like the safe. It is strong, secure and large enough to hold the documents we need to protect. The new/rubber like smell inside is a little too much but I hope that will fade with time. The door is very heavy which makes it harder for me to close. I have to put my whole body into it to close the door and then turn the handle to latch it but although that is a bit hard for me it shows the good strength and security that the safe has.

There is a horrible smell in the safe which we cannot remove. Is the smell coming from the lining or the glue or what? The smell is even on the shelfs. The smell penetrates anything we put inside the safe. We purchased the safe for valuables and medicine. We cannot put anything in the safe at this time. I cannot recommend this product at this time.
