Rotisserie Chicken

I love this chicken as it is seasoned well though some redness is near the bone of the chicken and I end up cooking it a bit more. I use it for chicken salad, in soups and casseroles. They are large chickens at a reasonable price. Most stores sell smaller chickens with prices up to $7.00 or more.

5 chickens for Freeze Drying

We bought 5 of these at one time. Why you may ask. We have a freeze dryer and put the meat from the chickens through it for processing. We now have 4 half gallon jars of chunks of freeze dried chicken and 2 mylar bags of it. Since we vacuum pack it with an oxygen absorber packet and a moisture absorber these will last for about 25 years. It rehydrates perfectly and make great chicken salad as well as nice soup. Highly recommended. Has great flavor

Great Value - Great Taste

A great roasted chicken for the price. Perfectly cooked, moist and meaty birds. I only wish they had a lemon pepper version. I would give the product itself 5 stars but am giving it a 4 this time because these last 2 roasted chickens I ordered were a bit odd in size. One chicken was its usual HUGE size but my other chicken was HALF its size. Kinda weird. Glad I was not entertaining guests -- there might not have been enough meat to go around. Seriously, Sam's, if your curbside service picks chickens for us, could you please make sure they're the same size BIG ones? Better yet, adapt the software/website to allow us to include notes regarding each of our purchases. It would be so easy for me to click into a notes field and add "PLEASE pick 2 of the BIGGEST roasted chickens available, TYVM"

Could improve

Chicken itself was juicy and tender. It had a very good flavor, but the skin was a real letdown. Instead of crispy and seasoned well, it was rubbery and unpleasant to eat. I enjoyed the meat, but the texture and taste of the skin took away from the overall experience.

BEST ROTISSERIE CHICKENS @ BEST PRICE I’VE FOUND!

Best rotisserie chicken we’ve ever had! Best tasting and best value, providing no less than 2 meals for our household comprised of 3 adults, at a lower cost than buying a whole raw chicken. I buy several Sam’s Rotisserie Chickens per month. My only complaint (and the reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5) is that the larger chickens are frequently undercooked and need a bit more cook time rather than just reheating them. Still a great value, though. To add even greater value to my purchase, I frequently debone the chickens and use the carcasses to make chicken stock, which I freeze or pressure can for later use.

MMMM!!!

This rotisserie chicken is fantastic! It’s seasoned perfectly, large and the price can’t be beat. It’s by far the best tasting and the best value of all the rotisserie chickens I have purchased, to include other warehouse clubs and grocery stores. It’s definitely a staple at my house.

The best thing at sams

Always a good flavor on these chickens. Here lately i feel they have been overcooked because the skin has been to crispy and sometimes the legs or leg quarters are getting broken off which allows juices to flow out and leads to a dry chicken. If it wasnt for that these chickens would always get a 5* from me

Good deal but undercooked for me

Chickens are giant and a great deal but not cooked enough for me. When everyone is digging for the biggest one I am searching for the smallest that is cooked more. Consistency of meat is odd like it is pumped too full of solution. I sometimes cut up and finish on the grill..

Good value for a quick snack

Terrific price on a rotisserie chicken. The downside is that it is injected with bleach, water and other things. I’m guessing salt as well so it’s hardly a natural chicken. I’m guessing that Walmart does these things to try to get them a longer shelf life once cooked. We still buy them periodically, but I would not recommend buying anything with that much chemical in it and consuming it on a regular basis for health reasons . at one point the bleach was so extremely high in content that it tasted like a swimming pool

A VERY budget friendly meal base

I've tried other rotisserie chickens and keep coming back to Sam's. I get multiple meals from one hen, so they're easy for the budget. I save the bones in a freezer bag until I have two, then make bone broth out of them. The broth can easily help to make several more meals. I'm grateful that Sam's hasn't hiked the price so high that I'd have to reconsider buying them.
