ABSOLUTE GARBAGE

This specific steak cut from Sam's used to be the GOLD standard. I've always purchased this and it was the juiciest, most flavorful cut of store bought steak ever. The last time I got it, 40% of it was fat and gristle. One of the worst cuts of steak I've ever had. It's almost as if they switched the Sam's PRIME out with the regular Walmart store Choice garbage steaks and slapped a $55 price tag on it. YES, I paid $55 for 2 ribeyes that were absolute garbage. Never again.

Tasted Good but Unhealthy

I purchased these because there were only two in a pack. They did taste good, but they are very unhealthy, and I will not be purchasing them again. Instead, I will opt for a healthier cut such as NY Strip Steak...but four in a pack, probably not at Sams.

Don't waste you money

I bought these yesterday and didn't believe the reviews. I always buy prime from Sams but no more. I do believe the steaks I bought were put together with meat glue. One steak fell apart into multiple pieces when I grilled it well (moms steak), that should never happen with a solid piece of meat. I notice my steak came apart into 3 pieces, that one was medium at just over 130 degrees. I'm so disappointed because I thought I was buying a whole prime cut steak but it seems the butchers are now doing frankinsteaks and selling them at prime rates. Parts of the steak were very tender and some pieces were so tough they were thrown away. Any part of a prime steak should never be thrown away or hard to chew. Disappointed in Sams, I will consider other places to buy my prime meat moving forward. I'm not saying all steaks are frankinsteaks but the one I bought in a 2 pack were, good luck to those expecting a solid prime cut.

Ups & Downs

I've been cooking steaks ,chops, burgers and roasts for many, many years and know the correct process for getting your meat exactly how you like it. You don't really see a lot of usda prime cuts of meat in our area so when I saw this product about a month ago I had to have it. I usually have to wait until I'm visiting my friend, who lives in Las Vegas, in order to get a quality steak dinner. I couldn't wait to get it properly cooked and on the table. When I sat down to dinner with the first steak I was literally blown away. The meat was so tender and delicious, I have to say that it was one of the best steak dinners I had ever had. However, when I cooked the second steak the following day (yes, exactly the same method used) the result was completely the opposite! The steak was tough and almost impossible to chew. I couldn't believe that the two steaks came out of the same package! It made me wonder whether the meat had gotten mixed up while being packaged. The second steak was definitely not the same quality as the first. I was upset, to say the least. I haven't gone back to try it again; I just can't trust that it wouldn't happen again. Disappointed!

Meat Glue?

These came apart when grilling and they were only being cooked to medium. The 4 steaks turned into a big V. They were so full of tendons and gristle could not chew these. They looked just like the picture above, but they were some other kind of meat. Very disappointed.

Delicious & Tender

Better than a steakhouse! Seasoned them at room temperature with garlic powder, salt, and all purpose steak seasoning, seared in a hot cast iron skillet and then broiled on low in oven. Grease will spatter but so worth it! I lined the oven with foil and put a screen over the cast iron. So tender and Delicious!!

it was amazing

had to leave a review after seeing there are many that are disappointed. i purchased 2 boxes of the prime ribeye (4 slices total), and spend 100$. when buying especially this type of meat we need to examine it carefully and look for the right colors and fibers. if you know what to look for you shouldn't be disappointed once you made the right choice. of curse we expecting for all of them to be good but it's not like that for a few reasons, and that's why we need to make an effort and check the options. I like to compare them to the "non prime" packs, to see which one looks better, before I make a choice. because sometimes I'll find a better looking "non prime" pack. they are both expensive but i prefer the prime because it's more tender. usually a younger cattle that was better fed. overall the prime has richer fat, which I like, it has better taste in my opinion. also sam's prime is a bigger cut than the "choice/non-prime", perfect portion for me. the pieces I got were amazing, I grilled the 4th piece 6 days after purchased (all of them were in the fridge) and it was fresh and delicious as the 1st. prime is better over all, definitely worth the price but you have to pick a good one because some packs are not good.

Steaks

Steaks were too thick and not tender even after I tenderize them, too expensive.
