Masterbuilt has allowed their quality to slip tragically . While once Masterbuilt was the choice to make that is not the case today ; the electronics atop are flimsy and deteriorate quickly , the burner coil looses its punch within the first season . Attempting to call their pathetic customer service produces nothing but more frustration .. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT ! Invest in something that will last beyond a couple years of smoking, there are a great number of alternatives out there from other electric to even natural gas offerings with GREAT REVIEWS !

Seems like nothing is built to last anymore and customer service stinks. Right after the year or ownership mark the control board is non responsive. I can adjust the time but no longer adjust the temperature. Basically making this a piece of junk. It was ok while it worked. It has a small capacity for the pellets. Have to refill about every hour on the hour. Makes it a pain in the butt for long smokes. Disappointed to say the least.

Purchase this smoker for my husband last week. It comes with no cover to protect the smoker or the control that is on top of the smoker. So I'm curious how do we keep it protected outside from rain since we purchased it for our outdoor kitchen? The drip pan is very flimsy. Cleaning it for the first time and one wash and the pan is all bent up. The area for the smoke chip is so small. You would think with such a big smoker it would have a larger area for the chip. Really debating on weather I should keep this or not. Afraid that the weather will mess it up and won't be able to use it again.

YOU WILL NEVER USE CHARCOAL GRILLS AGAIN (EXCEPT HOTDOGS) I BROUGHT MY GRILL 11/2018 COOKS PERFECTLY. From ribs, baby backs, T- bones, sirloin, whole bone in ham, pork steaks, rabbit and hen( watch cook time in both dont cook too long) corn, hamburger (so juicy) and potatoes just to name a few. Never cook hot dogs in it u might still want to use regular grill. Polish YES! Overall you have my vote

After only 3 uses we cannot get this thing to keep temperature. I cooked two pork buts on 275 degrees for almost 24 hours and the internal temperature never got above 155 degrees. At that temperature those things should have been finished (205 degrees) in 6-8 hours max! Now i am searching for the receipt. I know several people that have been through Master Built smokers with short life spans. This guys is going to charcoal is never looking back.

Ok so after a year sitting out in the rain and all summer in the heat .. I have had no problems with it no rust inside or no spots welds coming loose . I do clean my smoker after every use nothing special just a lil dish soap and yes I put water the smoker down . After turn it on for a couple of hours nice and dry ready for the next time. I would recommend it to any beginner .
