It’s aight

I'm not an average coffee drinker. I drink 4 to 5 lattes a day and this machine is delivering it for a month now without any signs of breaking down. For a year I switched 4 other coffee makers and this little guy is not louder than the others, and it makes the best espresso from them all and the frother doesn't make your milk taste like water. My friend has had her Delonghi machine for over 7 years now but you have to take care of it to do so. Regular cleaning and maintenance. Very simple machine to use, with no touch screen, and no auto stop it is all manual which took a while to remember, and not leave the machine alone till it's done. I love my new Delonghi and only time will tell for how long.

I purchased this model to replace a Delonghi purchased 5 years ago (it had gone beyond its useful life I believe). Love this new new. Love the compact design and filter storage . I especially love the frothy crema! I'm having a little trouble with inserting and removing the filters. I've been placing the filter holder on a flat surface and pressing the filter in place with the flat of my hand. I tried fingers first and caught skin. Removing them is tricky. Sometimes they fall out when I hang out the puck. Other than using my nails or a knife, I can't determine who to remove the filter. My old delonghi had a little lever that I flipped to hold the filter in place when I banged out the puck. This feature is gone. It made filter removal effortless. I'd appreciate any insights on removing the filters from the holder. Thanks.

I bought this for my adult daughter for Christmas. She struggled with a couple of the initial start up procedures, but it was just her getting used to the machine and not a fault of the product. She says she is tweaking her skills and her coffee is just getting better. She is very happy with the machine.

This is perfect for the espresso afficionado and/or snob, one who wants barista quality espresso without all coffee shop bells, whistles, and money. While you don't have to be a trained barista to use this machine, there is definitely some trial and error involved to get just the right cup (amount of espresso, timing, etc). But, it's an easy and fun process. Quality, let's start here. Does this machine deliver on high quality espresso that's worth bypassing other makers? In terms of taste, yes-- this De'Longhi machine absolutely can deliver. The espresso is rich and pure, and the aroma is out of this world. The machine has a 15-bar pressure, self-priming system, and two separate thermostats for water and steam pressure-- your hot water, milk, and espresso will always be the perfect temp. Just be careful-- the steel components of the machine get very hot! Convenience, set-up, and use. So easy! The machine was simple to put together. The manual was clear, filled with pictures and directions that were simple to follow for set-up and use. I love that this comes with 3 filters-- single shot, double shot, and one to use with espresso pods. Use your own ground espresso or make it even easier and use an e.s.e.pod for no mess and pre-set perfection. I have tried both ways (espresso, pod), and they both give equally great espresso. The machine is actually quite compact and it doesn't take up a large footprint of space; so this is ideal for those with limited counter space. It is a mix of stainless steel and plastic, very easy to clean. The design is sleek and attractive. Points to keep in mind: Take time to learn how to make the perfect shot of espresso (ground size, amount, brew time, etc). The filters can be a bit tough to push down and the filter holder is a bit tough to turn to the proper position. This may be because it's new and needs a tight fit-- just an FYI. Overall verdict: great machine that gives barista quality espresso without barista skills needed. Reasonable price point for this type of home espresso machine. Perfect compact size with a mighty output. Love the versatility of using ground espresso or pods. Easy to use, easy to clean up, love the milk frother. The possibilities are endless-- espresso, americano (my favorite), lattes, cappuccinos, etc. Have fun with the milk frother-- it's the best!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This makes good espresso's, lattes, and cappuccino's. It includes a tamper for measuring out the perfect amount. It has different size filters to brew the size I want. This even has a small tray that I can place on the bottom for brewing taller sized cups. Once my machine was heated and my ready light came on, I switched over to brew. I let my espresso pour 22-25 seconds and switched the brewing process back off. To make lattes and cappuccino's, I put a cup of milk under the frothier and switched it on. There is also a lever on the side that begins the frothing process. I was then able to pour my frothed milk on top for a very delicious drink. This was simple to learn and makes great tasting drinks at home. I am very pleased with how easy this is to use.
