This is a nice A/C - doesn't quite keep up with our living room area due to the openness of our floor plan but it does take the edge off in the afternoons and evenings. This is our sole source of cooling in a climate that is regularly 90 - 100 degrees in the summer. I think if it was used in a room where the doors could be closed it would probably freeze you out of the room.

i bought two, one was way too loud, made downstairs ceiling vibrate, and hard to sleep witj it on. planning on buying another when i see how the return goes. delonghi customer service is lacking staff and first person didn't listen to me, but sam's is great customer service

The house is 1500 q ft. The front of the house gets the most sun and is hard to keep cool even with ceiling fans and keeping dark curtains closed. I put the a/c in a bedroom at the front of the house where it cools that room as well as the living room, another bedroom and the part of the kitchen. The thermostat is set at 78 for the rest of the house. As a bonus, the curtains can be open. Everyone sleeps well.

I bought this since I don't have central air and couldn't be happier.. sleep feature that kicks the hum down when you sleep and a real feel feature that allows the machine to turn off when the temp set is reached and kicks back on if temp goes up. Wish I would have bought this sooner! Love it and sleeping great

This AC unit runs like a champ! It will freeze you out, which is what we like. We have very high ceilings in the rest of our house so we bought this for our bedroom so we could keep the thermostat in the main house at 76 but be cool when we sleep.. It defiantly does what we bought it for without breaking the bank.

It works okay I guess I am pushing the limits being in Florida. I am trying to cool a 450 sq foot room with a 9 foot ceiling. Right now with 90 plus temps and high humidity the best I can get the room down to is 79 degrees with it running all the time. The other negative when it gets to the temp you set it to it does not shut off no auto shut off so in the cooler months if i want it to shut off at 78 degrees it doesnt

This AC unit works really well. We bought it because our central AC had broken down, which is really difficult to deal with in southeast Georgia in late May! (It got up to 90 degrees inside the house!) We weren't going to be able to get it fixed for a week or so and needed something to help cool the place down in the meantime. We kept this unit in the bedroom, which is a larger than the 500 square feet that it is designed to cool. However, even with the larger area, it still effectively kept the room cool and comfortable. We haven't used it since we got the central AC fixed, but are keeping it as a back up in case we have any more problems.

I've had this air conditioner for about a couple of weeks. Currently, we are living in our rental home until ours is built. My husband hooked it up and it cools my dressing room totally. The best feature is the built-in recycling of condensation and the heat escapes out the window. Love it! No problems thus far and I'm sure it will continue to work efficiently.

We use this unit to cool a bedroom that our central A/C unit doesn't cool well, due to the room getting direct sunlight all day. It does a great job! We basically hooked the unit up, turned it on, and haven't touched it since. Two features we like about this unit are: (1) the lights on the unit stay on. This is a benefit for us as the unit is in a bedroom and would be difficult to see in the dark. (2) the fan stays running while the compressor is off. When the compressor engages, the sound changes slightly, but not enough to wake us up. If you have ever used a white noise machine while you sleep, the fan sound is similar and consistent. We vented the unit through a sliding glass door. To do this, a had a piece of 6" lumber cut at a home improvement store to fit the vertical height on our door. We used a 5 1/2" width board with a tongue on one side and a groove on the other. The tongue fit perfectly into the door frame, holding the board securely in place. We used the groove to place a piece of insulation with a flange on one side that fit into the groove. Got the insulation at a home improvement store. It provides a good seal between the wood and the sliding part of the door. I used the oval exhaust bracket that came with the A/C unit to trace an exhaust hole in the board and a couple of small braces on the board to allow me to use the holes on the exhaust bracket to the board, lining the hole in the board with some 1/4" insulation. After this, the exhaust bracket from the unit snapped into the mate on the door, and I was cooling the room. This install enabled me to close my screen door, outside of the exhaust vent, to keep bugs, animals, etc. out. In the fall, I can disconnect the unit from the bracket in the door; slide out the wood from the door; and close things up for winter. Could not be happier with the unit's features or performance.

We bought this to replace an older failing portable A/C whose bucket we had to empty about 2-3 times a day when it was humid out. Somehow this unit takes care of all of that condensation and doesn't leak one bit. It cooled our 420 square foot attic bedroom beautifully. Wish I had known about this possibility a few years ago.
