I bought this air conditioner for my son to use in the garage. He uses one side of the garage as a music studio. Our garage is not insulated, but it cools the area well enough during our summer heat of 100 plus. He ran the vent line through the garage air vent using a dryer vent cover. He is uses it for a few hours during the day. It is surprisingly quiet so that it does not interfere with his recordings.

I ordered this for my elderly mom for her rental. Excluding getting the box into her apartment (and out of the box) this thing is so easy to use. It's heavy, yes, but once out of the box and on the wheels so easy - even on carpet. If you have a traditional window - easiest install ever. I am not handy, but even I could do it. My mom had a window that hinged outside - so we had to get inventive. We ended up rednecking it by getting a piece of plywood and cutting a slot so the exhaust piece could be sealed into it. Noise level I would say is roughly the same as a traditional box fan on medium - with it blowing almost to max. Within 3 hours, mom called to say - she turned it off since it cooled down her place so quickly (I believe her rental is 800-1000 sq ft). All in all awesome system - just remember what to expect if you have a non-traditional window.

Cools my entire living room (16x24) and hallway. Has whisper setting which I use all the time. Pretty quiet. This is my second one of these. Bought one 5 years ago, same brand. Finally quit working this summer, but partially my fault for forgetting to clean the filter. Happ and would buy again

I love this portable AC. This system is great. I put it in a 450sqft. And it cools it downfast and efficient. The dehumidifier works great and the timer is a great addition for i can set it for 2,4,6 hrs. All together for very happy with this purchase. So much that i bought one mole for my garage. I highly refined this product not too mention that this brand is once of the best.

We purchased this room air conditioner about a month ago for my Daughters bedroom that we just couldn't keep cool. She absolutely loves it. Even when the weather is 90+ degrees in Tennessee she is staying cool. Install was a breeze and took about 20 minutes including reading directions and unpacking. Highly recommend!

Absolutely fantastic, this is my third one. The first two we bought 3 years ago from Sams Club because they were returned and did not work supposedly. The problem is that some people can't read. They buy it, lay it down on its side to bring home, plug it in and it doesn't work. Dumb! It has to be upright for 24 hours so the freon can seep in properly upright and they work great. Very efficient, great features.

I have three of these I have used for three to five years. The first one had to be replaced for a defect within the first 30 days. Since that time, no problems. The original two that I bought put out cold air better than the third one and this last one. All of them cover up to 400sq feet and they have different model numbers. I don't know what that's all about. They all work the same and have the same features. I live in Arizona. My house is 1850 sq. ft. I am by myself and I don't want to cool the whole house when I only use a couple of areas. These will do the job well enough, until the temperature hits about 110 degrees, then I might have to use the air conditioner in the day time. I only run it at night when I have company. One nice point is that I can move them from one room to another and after the summer I can take them out. This is a nice feature they have over a fixed window ac but the window ac with the same btu rating works better for sure. If you don't mind the look, l would recommend that you go with that. Much better at cooling and less expensive. All that being said, if you buy one make sure that you can return it to the store for at least 30 days. Then take it home, hook it up and don't turn it off for 30 days. If your going to have a problem it will probably show up.

Can't give this more than a 4 star rating because of the unneeded features like the "real feel" which seems like a gimmick to me and the whisper-quiet gimmick that really just turns it down. And the remote is not that great with the pause after you hit a button and its not really that easy to use or get it to seem accurate. It is pretty loud BUT, this thing cools very well and seems like it would cool even a larger room than listed. We use it a lot and haven't ever had to empty any moisture, but who knows if we might have to later. Hope it lasts as long as my 8 year old Sharp on my patio that I use a lot for my cigar habit that leaks after its on for 3 minutes.

We bought this for our bedroom that gets hot at night and we didn't wabt to cool the whole house. It waa easy to set up and ibstructiobs were eady. Now we sleep bettee with a cooler bedroom.

It does the job, just not as well as I hoped. But for the price, still a decent buy. Biggest disappointment was it doesn't really have a true thermostat in A/C mode. Set it at 73 and it just keeps running (been down to 69 and I had to turn it off manually). It will turn itself on and off in "Real Feel" mode but "Real Feel" is based on some algorithm between temperature and humidity that determines what "comfortable" should be which of course is objective.I'm trying to keep me and a bunch of guitars comfortable and guitars don't like major swings in temperature and humidity. It is worth the money though, you may just need to babysit it more than you want. It's not the machines fault I bought a house that someone used the cheapest glass known to man in a Sun Room in Central Florida where temps often hit the mid 90's. Installation was pretty simple. None of these types of portable air conditioners will work on casement windows despite videos to the contrary. They work good with single/double hung or sliders. But if your windows are wide or tall sliders like mine, the filler strips they provide to fill the gap are not long enough. I had to browse the home improvement store to find a suitable material to fill the gap left by short extensions they provide. I'd rather they include a lot of extra material for $20 more (which is easy to cut down) than figure out a way to cobble it together so it looks decent.
