Bought last summer used it for a month (worked great). Stored it for the winter (indoors), installed it again in May, and it wouldn't cool. The fan would run, but condenser wouldn't kick on…after a tedious and drawn out process I was able to get a replacement unit from DeLonghi in July, and that one started to malfunction a month later. I will not buy this brand again. Very disappointed

Cools very quickly. Not excessively noisy. Top vents do not adjust, unit is well made and heavy. Venting hose was a bit balky to adjust upward to a window mounted high. My window slides left to right. If your window is too tall, use of 3rd extension piece makes full extension too "wobbly". Foam seal provided was appreciated but barely long enough. I used blue painters tape to seal fully. Read your instructions and use the enclosed guide to properly operate the unit. I shopped around, good price for this quality unit with cooling up to 500 sq.ft.

Every summer I contemplate getting one of these before shying away due to price. This past weekend we had a heat wave reaching 116 degrees during the day and the low was still in the 80s leaving us with little relief. I live in a house and my bedroom is on the second floor and I share two walls to the outside. The one window in my room receives sun for a good majority of the day. I decided to bite the bullet and go to Sam's. This was the only unit in store on the day I went to my closest location. Went to work and set the unit up when I got home. It was super easy to set up! The window kit seemed cheap, but I've never owned another unit to compare quality to so this may just be how it is as a norm. I am SO GLAD I purchased his unit. Reviews saying it was loud or didn't cool had me worried but I was desperate. Of course the unit makes noise, it's not completely silent, but it's not any louder than the hum of a refrigerator. As for the temp, it cooled down my room to a cold (and I mean I was cold) temperature after about an hour or so. I love the Feel Real setting, I adore it! I leave it on that setting most of the time :)

Got the unit from Sams, hooked it up in a newly enclosed room within the garage, worked fine. Says dont run without a filter located the filter compartment, no filter. There was no filter in the unopened box, is the filter sold separate and if so how stupid is this, needed it tonight, no I have to locate the filter. Add a couple$$$ to the price and send the filter...Makes me want to return the unit...maybe somebody will read this and send me one, Delonghi you read these...

Just bought this yesterday and had it set up within 15 minutes or less - super easy to put together. Let it sit overnight since it was laying down for the trip home. Turned it on this morning and am very pleased. It's nice that it has an evaporator so a drain hose isn't required. (I'd like to add a drain hose to get the humidity lower, but at least it's optional). The cooler air is definitely better than the hot humid air from open windows. The air is nice and cold on high, and even in quiet mode. Would like it better if the fan would turn off instead of running constantly, but overall I'm very pleased with this unit.

We bought two of these to cool bedrooms at night. They have run non-stop thru two Florida summers (basically all year) and have been fabulous. No issues! Highly recommend. Cons: Lights on top are bright and can interfere with sleep but can cover with towel. ALso the hose is bulky and hard to maneuver in small spaces.

I bought this for my BR & bath, when my a/c went out. I used it for a month. I highly recommend it! It was a saving grace for me and performed better than I had hoped. I used it in my 16 X 14 BR (225 sf), and sometimes I left the door open for my 75sf bathroom. I live in very humid south Louisiana, so it couldn't keep up with pulling much humidity out of the air. But it DID keep the room VERY cool, and all the settings and buttons I used worked great. It's on very stable rollers, so I could aim it in different directions easily. My area was smaller than this unit is rated to cool, so I can't say how it would cool 500sf. But I can recommend it for up to 300sf. (Shout out to Sam's for having a loading area to get it into my car; it's heavy, but I managed to get it onto a flatbed cart by myself to run it thru the cashier line. I had to carefully roll it onto the cart, since it was sitting on a very low shelf.) It was pretty easy to fit the exhaust hose in my single hung window. I added extra insulation to the hose fitting in the window. The long exhaust hose gets very hot. I didn't want that heat spreading around in my room for the a/c to try to cool, so I LOOSELY wrapped it in that silver sheet-like insulation, taping it together. That's not too attractive, for a permanent situation, but for my situation, appearance didn't matter. The unit worked ver well, kicking on and off when it should, reaching the desired temperature in a reasonable length of time. Ahhhh....it was a blessing to walk into my BR from the rest of the hot house. My dog thought so, too! I didn't select a temperature too low, so as not to put a strain on it. I put the unit on top of a big board, in case it leaked (but it didn't leak). I'm thinking of buying a second one, to keep on hand for emergencies.

This A/C is great! We currently been having ours for over 1 year now. Cools down our room fast and was easy to set up. For the people that are staying “it falls apart or is hard to set up” must not like reading directions. The connection ends from the window to the unit will are easily twisted on. Easy to clean the filter and drain if ever needed. A/C is quite, easy temperature change if needed and remote makes it even more easy to work.

This portable AC unit cools down the upstairs area in my house quickly and it's not loud at all. The exhaust tube gets warm and water needs to be drained from time to time but other than that it's a lifesaver. I couldn't sleep or function without it as the temperature would be unbearable.

This portable AC unit is perfect for our sun porch! It's approx 450 sq. ft. and this unit cools it down quickly. Its easy to install, it quickly removes the humidity from the air. I'm so happy I made this purchase. I will be recommending this item to everyone!
