Noise level far exceeds expectations as printed on the original box!!! (See photo from packaging.) It is louder than any refrigerator I've ever had. Requires turning up volume on TV to listen. Purchased to cool upstairs bedroom to be able to sleep comfortably in summer. It super-cooled the room, but made so much noise I could not sleep. I have tried to get used to the sound level to be able to sleep with it on, but I have given it enough of a chance to know that I cannot get used to it. Returning it to store. This could be great for a workshop or art studio where noise was not an issue because it really puts out the cold air. Very disappointed because I thought this was going to solve the problem of cooling an upstairs bedroom in a townhouse with only one HVAC for both levels.

Bought this a week ago and was terribly disappointed. Put it in my very small living room and it did not cool the room. If you stood in front of it you could feel some air. Its advertised to cool 500 sq feet and my living room is no where near that. It was bought to cool the room and it was something my husband would not have to lift and tug.

I rarely write reviews unless something is very good or very bad. This is a horrible unit. If you read the complete description, the Department of Energy rates this ac as 6700 btu. I doubt it's even that powerful. Besides the fact that you have to be right next to it to enjoy the coolness, it sweats water over the whole surface of unit. I ended up putting a pan under it to catch all the extra water even though the drain hose I installed always had a steady drip. Before that it soaked my carpet. I bought a 10,000 btu window unit to replace it and it is a night a day difference. Please save yourself the trouble and don't buy this unit.

We bought two of this particular model. On the first the screen went dead, then the whole thing stopped working. Thankfully, it was under warranty at the time. It was replaced, but it took a while for them to do so. The second one has now stopped working and it is NOT under warranty. So we have to go buy another unit. Now the one that was replaced is starting to not cool as well as it used to. I would NOT recommend this model. We have another of the same brand that has worked for a while, but it's an older model. Just buyer beware.

This is a great product that does a good job cooling our bedroom. However, like others have posted, I am not able to register the product on the DeLonghi website (product does not exist on selection). One recommendation, we placed the unit on a milk crate. This raises the level of the unit and makes it easy to drain the tank if needed. We also use a 1/2 inch clear plastic tube connected to the drain. NOTE: THIS IS NOT A SAFE IDEA IF YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN.

Bought this AC a few days ago. It does cool the room well enough. However, it is very loud, could not sleep with it on even in the whisper quiet sleep mode. The box says the only thing quieter that this unit is the sound of a pin dropping but that's incorrect. The window kit included is made of a thin plastic and moves around in the window opening. It seems like the window kit could break easily. The exhaust hose got very hot while it was running. Only used the AC unit one night. I am not impressed with product and will be returning it.

My house has two AC units. During the day we run the living room area and at night we run the bedroom side. Unfortunately, my oldest room is on the living room side and without the AC unit running his room get to 87 degrees at night. It's way too expensive to run two AC units at the same time. I only gave this review 4 stars because the window installation was difficult. I have dual pane windows and the length of the window is larger than standard. The window would not close properly because of the thickness. I had to use the strip seal that comes with the unit and wedge some metal pieces between the window and the bottom of the window attachment for it to be properly sealed without gaps. Other than the installation the unit works great and cools down better than the AC.

I purchased this unit 2 days ago to replace a older one which had gotten very noisy. The old one was struggling to keep the room cool and the fan screamed when trying to cool during the day (70+dB). Ordered online and paid for and picked up at club. Since I had to lay it on its side for the short trip home I unpacked the unit and let it sit for 24 hrs as recommended. After connecting the exhaust hose and turning it on I was amazed at how little noise it made and the cooling kicked in after a few seconds and has been running since. When set on "Whisper Cool" the I can barely hear it (~55dB) I use it in my upstairs sleeping quarters and had to get up during the night to raise the set temp. If it gets too cool for me that is quite an accomplishment. The only drawback is the controls are still a bit too bright for me at night for getting to sleep. They dim but not enough. Overall, this was a good buy and I would recommend.

I bought this because the price was good and expect Sams to carry decent products. This is my 3rd portable conditioner in the past 10 years. Both of my other units, one a Sharp and I can't recall the other both served me well and took good care of my smaller 120 sq ft office with too many computers. This DeLonghi unit just does whatever it wants. I feel I have no control over the temperature, the office is either ice cold or too hot. I have tried the different settings and can't get any to do what I want or expect. It will definitely get your room cold, colder, and still colder... it is not that loud and looks nice. I wish it could be controlled.

We purchased this expecting to use it on a limited basis while our central air was being repaired. It was selected because it was the lowest price unit for rated square footage. Due to delays in the repair, we've now used it for over a month and are completely satisfied with the performance. Our home has a relatively open floor plan and this unit has maintained comfortable temperatures for approximately 1300 sq ft of space that we use the most. Outdoor temperatures have been in the mid-80s for most of the time that we've used it. Installation was quick and easy. It is not overly loud while running. We would definitely purchase this again and, in fact, are considering buying two additional units so that we have them as back ups should our central air fail again.
