The Machine is Wonderful
The machine itself is wonderful. It puts out a lot of cold air, I haven't noticed any condensation coming out of the port on the back, and it's powerful. I'm thoroughly happy with the machine. The tubing and connections that go towards the window, however, are pretty flimsy. You basically have to duct tape everything together to make sure that it is solid and stays put. When it is duct taped together, it's fine. Also, the tubing that goes with the machine to the window is pretty short. If you can't place this unit directly in front of the window on the floor, you're probably going to have some problems reaching the window, and if it a super high window, forget it. I am very happy with my purchase.
Cools my 660 sq ft workshop
I installed this 12,000 BTU portable airconditioner in my garage attached workshop; "DeLonghi PACAN270G1W 500 Sq. ft. Portable Air Conditioner"; $329 at Sam's Club: My shop is 660 sq ft, 12' ceiling. It keeps it very cool in the morning. It's a litle warm by 3pm. The ceiling is NOT air conditioned, the 18' wide garage door is not insulatred. I'll be insulating both eventually, so I think all three products will do the job for me. https://www.samsclub.com/sams/12k-portable-ac-inclub-980097924/prod22260007.ip?xid=plp_product_1_1 Also, I added this stop door to cover the 2nd door to the car garage: "Strip Door Roll - 8" wide standard smooth - .08" thick x 150' common industry standard pvc". The 150' roll weights about 60 lbs and the material is about the thickness of a dime, was deliverd quickly by UPS. I installed this curtain over a 9' tall, 40" wide opening. I was able to cover the 40" opening with 3 layers of overlapping stip door. I used a sheet of plywood as a straight edge and a cutting table to cut the 150' roll into 16, 9'2" strips, then, stacked them up and drilled the mounting holes in all the stips at one time. Turns out the door opening header was about 1.5" higher than the door opening, so it was good I cut each piece about 2" longer. When it was all done I trimmed about .5" off the bottom of each strip so they are about 1/8" above the floor bottom. I hung all 16 strips it on this mounting hardware: "Resilia - Industrial Mounting Hardware For Strip Curtain Doors - 4 Foot Steel Strip (1 Bracket)" :: Excellent product for mounting a strip door: Heavy duty steel frame. I left it 48" long and had 4" overhang on each side of 40" door opening. I believe this mounting hardware will easily support the weight of the strip door. Very happy with the product. Combined, I spent about $150 to keep the air conditioned workshop cool. I'm satisfied with both purchases. All total: $480 for an air conditioned work shop and I didn't have to pull any wiring or cut any holes. I live in central Kansas, it's about 98 degrees and 48% humidity here all summer long. Well worth the $480 to be able to go outside and work in the shop all day long (when I want to).
De'Longhi continues make quality products
Over the years we have gone thru several portable air conditioners from other manufactures. This is a quiet unit and quickly produces cold air. Has several nice digital features and the vent accessories are made of quality material. To increase the efficiency and BTUs while decreasing the heat gain (100%) from the exhaust tube (normal in ALL portable AC units), I wrapped the tubing and covered the window exhaust brackets with Flex-Fix insulation and foil tape. After completion, the unit quickly cooled down our 350 sq.ft. room to a comfortable 72 degrees.
Works very well
I bought this in May of 2019. I use it in my bedroom at night. I live in SW Florida and it works very well. However, I have to unplug it on a regular basis to reset it because it won't turn on. After resetting it, it will turn on. Frustrated! Thinking about returning it.
Disappointed
Saw on the box this worked for all window types so I waz very excited as our house has sliding Windows. But it's flawed and didn't work out great. The partition you install in the window has 2 extender pieces to add on to customize to your window size. You insert these pieces into the main window piece so you automatically have gaps on both ends as the extenders are narrow. Also a bigger gap is created because you have to place screws (not included) on both ends to keep the extenders in place so the nail head adds more space in the gap. I had to tape all around to keep hot air out. Unit brings upper room temp down but doesn't circulate throughly to cool my kids bedroom even with all doors closed and darkening blinds. She has slept on the floor near it with a fan on to stay cool. I'll be returning for a better unit.
Waste of time!
This is a joke! Its over complicated. The only way we could get it to attempt to cool is by having it on the "real feel" setting but when it reaches a descent temp in the room it shuts off, completely! In the middle of the night when you're sleeping! It says up to 500 sq ft but the room is 408 sq ft unfurnished, furnished it's probably 300. It never got passed 75 degrees in there. Now we have to take it back, order a different one, and wait.....waste of time!
One Unit DOA and the other Dead After A Year
Bought two of these at the same time. One would not work out of the box, so took it back. The other died after one year (I live in Maine and it is only used 2 months at most, and then not every day). So disappointed with this Italian product I won't even eat pasta anymore. Buy American!
What a peice of junk
Don't know if they just delete all bad reviews or what. I bought three of these babies two summers ago. Within first two months first one stopped getting cold brought it back to sams and they swapped it out which was awsome. Two months later second one stopped getting cold I did all fix's I could find in manual and everywhere else now a glorified power guzzling fan. Packed them away for winter (aka unplugged them and took hose out of window). Replaced the glorified fan with new more expensive model (well wife did). Got two weeks of use out of the one that sams club replaced and it stopped throwing cold air. Last one kicked the bucket today going into standby mode and won't start up. these air conditioners even when running never put out much cold air and are terrible on the electric bill. The more expensive model definitely works though it's just the cheaper model (if you call $300 cheap) that seems more dud then stud. Either pay $500pluss for best model or stay away from this brand of ac it will only get you through one summer to one and a half at most

It does so much more then chill the air
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can not express how amazing this 3 in 1 air conditioner is. Not your moms portable air conditioner, this bad boy does everything Plus it has wheels! Window Assembly is so easy. Not only is it an air conditioner, but it also works as a portable heater and dehumidifier. The wheels makes it so easy to roll it into the bathroom to drain the reservoir. I can not express how functional and easy this machine is to use. Extra bonus it comes with a remote!!
