it might be ok after the bugs get worked out

I have been experiencing great frustration with getting it to scan from my iMac. Also, before you install your printer all-in-one...make sure to get the serial number off of the BOTTOM of the printer, before you fill the ink tanks. I had to lay on my back to take a photo of it.. Ridiculous place for the serial number!! There is nothing intuitive about setting this machine up.

Do not buy Epson product

Do not buy any Epson! Serial number x8er025979, Model ET-4850: The Wi-Fi is defective again. This is my fourth replacement printer, and it is now out of warranty! You are selling a faulty product. All the errors are related to the Wi-Fi. Reference #: 230901-002061 Serial Number: X8ER017776 Date: Sept 1, 2023 Reference #: 240116-003532 Serial Number: X8ER020631 Date: Jan 18, 2024 Reference #: 240123-003776 Serial Number: X8ER018837

This is how you do it!

On first appearances, the ET-4850 resembles a standard AIO printer with a narrow footprint and sleek form factor. On closer look you can see the reservior where the magic happens, as this is a cartridge-free printer with ink storage in a fantastic step forward to reducing plastic waste. An environmentally conscious decision by Epson and one most consumers can appreciate as a larger storage also means more pages per ink purchase. The unit has black quoted at 7,500 pages per tank, with color at about 6,000. Staggeringly high when you consider the days of a few hundred per cartridge, families will be sure to appreciate this as school gets rolling again. The unit itself is relatively quiet, with the usual print head shudder and movement. Print speed is around 15 ppm black, 8ppm color. Scanning is quick and efficient with a fairly standard resolution of 1200x2400, no real surprises in store here. Document feeder on top of the unit and a 250 page paper storage brings some of that business utility to the home office, reducing hands on time with the printer so you can get work done efficiently! All in all, this is a pleasant surprise by Epson and a huge step forward in sustainability and business practices. Poor print quality, ADF always jams

I purchased this ET-4850 because of the features and the ink tank, but the printer itself is one of the worst printers I have owned. Every print is poor quality with lines through the font despite multiple alignments and head cleanings, and the ADF has never worked for a scan or copy, it jams the first page halfway through feeding, regardless of number of sheets. Highly disappointed

Poor set up if your computer has Windows 11

I requested this printer as a gift and am so disappointed with set up and function. I am quite capable of resolving technical issues; however, this one I could not resolve completely. The downloads, etc. would not let me complete the set up on my computer but I was able to manually set up wifi on printer. In addition to installation issues, the printer kept jamming. I contacted Asurion because I was also gifted a protection plan. Upon completion of that chat, I was told to contact Epson! What a mess. I have a new printer that I can't do a complete set up and even if I could, I can't print because of paper jams. That issue is caused by one of the plastic flaps on the back panel of the printer. It is bent...

Perfect!

Epson all in one ET-4850 is replacing my ET-4750 that has 40,000 printouts and still working. I wanted 2 printers to print different media without having to keep changing it. I am very happy with all of my Epson products. The ECO tank is why I bought these printers. Great print quality in all modes.

We've had one for years and LOVE IT

We have a ET-4760 (which I believe is an older model.) It's for our home. It has never let us down. It prints FOREVER on a single fill. It does excellent copy and scan. We have had this copier for several years and I've bought more ink ONCE. The fill process is very simple and there's no mess. The only downside is that the function screen is very small.

Stay away

Nothing but problems with this printer from day one. Smudges, connection issues abound. Was happy with my previous all-in-one Epson printer/scanner/copier. This one is hitting the trash can tomorrow and I’ll be shopping for another brand. Seems Epson is not what it once was.

Perfect all around Printing Solution

I’m a work from home IT professional and need to produce seemingly endless amounts of documentation for presentations and project planning. I’ve been using this EcoTank ET-4850 printer for the past week or so and have come to love it. Connectivity via Ethernet OR Wifi, Fax Capability, Scanner Feeder, Full Duplex Printing, Touch Screen interface for configuration and management, 250-page paper feeder tray (in front) are some of the features that make this printer stand out. What makes it stand out most though is that it comes with 2 years’ worth of ink. I can’t say enough about how well thought out this printer is, Epson has really stepped up with this one. Even the Ink Bottles are specially keyed so there’s no risk of loading the wrong color in. The setup was a breeze, just follow the directions on the companion app. The footprint is compact, and all the features are accessible from the front (even the ability to see how slowly the ink levels change.) The fax function can be a life saver for those that aren’t using digital services yet; just feed your docs into the feeder and send away. For printing fast, 15.5ppm / 8.5ppm does the trick and the print outs in BW or Color are sharp and precise. I’m really challenged in finding anything negative to say about this printer, it just outperforms my expectations on every level. This Printer is a Game Changer, Seriously

When I purchased the Epson EcoTank, it was out of frustration. I was new to working from home and discovered that my old printer was a money guzzler. I was spending about $80 every six to eight weeks! It seemed as if the ink was always running low or out. I couldn't figure out why the ink was costing more than the actual printer. Then one day, I saw an ad for the Epson EcoTank. I researched the heck out of it and only saw positive feedback. I was apprehensive because I have had several printers in the past. Could it really deliver on the promise of using less ink? Well, listen, it did. I literally have not changed the ink in my printer for 1.5 years! Yep, I saved around $693 during that time. I am a huge fan of this printer. No longer am I frustrated and throwing money away on costly ink cartridges. I also shared my experience with my dad, and he is now using the EcoTank. I forgot to mention that the quality of the printer is excellent and far exceeds my previous printers
