A little small for my needs but works great.
If you have limited space this printer is very helpful a plus is not having to but cartridges how much the ink cost could make or break this printer. “This is a review for the Epson EcoTank ET-4850 All-in-one printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”
Do not buy Epson product
Do not buy any Epson! Serial number x8er025979, Model ET-4850: The Wi-Fi is defective again. This is my fourth replacement printer, and it is now out of warranty! You are selling a faulty product. All the errors are related to the Wi-Fi. No more Cartridges!
I am so happy to have the easy to use printer. Out of the box set up was simple and the app guided you step by step through the process of setting the printer up. This also included pictures and instructions on how to fill the ink tanks, which was surprisingly easy to do. After everything was all set up I was able to print a few photos from my phone with no problems at all. There are many amazing things about this printer. First...no more cartridges ever, just super affordable ink bottles to refill the tanks. Second, the paper tray holds 250 sheets of paper. Third automatica. Double sided printing. Fourth nice touch screen that is very easy to use. Overall this is a great printer! Great experience going on 2 years
Two years and so far, so good. A far cry from the cx-6600 days and the partially emptying ink cartridges and clogged printer heads. The only thing to remember is to print regularly to keep the tubes and print head flowing. Also, use the maintenance features once in a while. This is true with any inkjet printer, but not so bad with Ecotank refillable tanks. Design is great, easy to remove jams (seldom), takes all kinds of paper, UI is easy (easier than the Canon I had), and Wifi was a breeze. I only wish it had a user-serviceable waste cartridge that I could clean out, but at least you can replace replace it. I bought two and I have not needed yet to replace the original yet. Very straightforward. Some models do not allow you to replace the waste tank, so once it is filled it is now a useless printer. That ought to be illegal.
Terrible connectivity issues - printing and scanning
I have had this ET04850 over year and it has been the most frustrating combo printer I have ever owned! It has had tons of connection issues, stopped print jobs, stalled scans, etcc. We are so used to it not printing a job, that we just cycle the power on it and Wa La, the print job happens. Today, I just updated the firmware again. I also reinstalled the latest ESPON drivers onto my computer and of course my Windows 11 is totally up to date on my laptop. Over the last 20 years I have had two different HP's that were spot on for printing or scanning when you needed them - RARELY a connection issue. I bought this thing to save on ink, but BUYER BEWARE many times when I had to print or scan something quickly before leaving the house, I was faced with a half hour of frustration or not getting what I needed. BTW this is with two different computers. If this latest round of updates doesn't fix it, I am dumping EPSON and going back to an HP.
Features better than I thought they were.
Reviewed this printer a few days ago and gave a bad review for the quality of printing pictures. I regret that review. I found that my issue had to do with the paper/settings I was using. With glossy paper for inkjet printers the quality was great. Although the printer still said I had a paper/settings mismatch, my pictures were very good.
Flawless! Best printer I've used!
The Epson Eco Tank ET-4850 was a wonderful surprise for this home office user. It is compact, quiet and the easiest functioning printer I have ever used. The setup is, without doubt, the most seamless and fastest you can imagine. I have read and listened to reviews about the EcoTank instead of ink cartridges and was doubtful about the results. Well, doubt no more. Everything you hear about this compact beautyis the truth. Let me tell you what I experienced. First, this all-in-one came packed in a great sturdy box with really secure packaging inside so that the printer would not shift or move during shipping. It came out of the box easily and was surprisingly light compared to my previous Epson WF-3740 that was a true workhorse. Setup with the easy to read instructions and the Epson app was amazingly simple. I must admit that when I first started the download and connection to my home network, I expected a long process that had been my experience in the past. This was so quick I was amazed. The speed of this ink jet printer is about the best I've seen. It has the capability of duplex printing and does it quickly and effortlessly. The ink bottles are a game changer. I was a bit apprehensive at first. However, this was about the easiest process I could imagine. Each color ( black, cyan, yellow and magenta) each came in a separate bottle. Here's best part: each one of them has a specifically designed nozzle that will only fit it's corresponding color, so you can't screw it up! YAY! The bottle automatically empties itself into the tank which has a window on the front so you always know your ink levels. Now to printing which was amazing. The print quality was crisp, bright and very high definition. The photos were just the best I have ever printed and my husband (amateur photographer) was tickled pink with the results. His still life photos had depth and clarity that heretofore had never printed so beautifully. Kudos to the print quality. The scanner is great. It worked so easily and produced such high quality results I was truly impressed. Scanning either to print, the cloud or to save to memory all went off without a hitch. It scanned with far more detail than I have had before. The copier is just the best, I have to say. With the number of copies that I have to make on a weekly basis for my class and groups, I can't ask for a better copier. Just as the scanning and printing, the copies come out clear and crisp. Works for me. The touchscreeen display is bright and the presets help with and easy flow of the tasks. It takes you from step to step through the setup and for whatever task you need to complete with this little gem of an all-in-one Epson ET-4850. No more ink cartridges for me! It prints great!
Hello! I received this printer about 4 days ago, and was so excited! This brand is excellent, and I hope it lives up to all the hype. First off, I was just expecting a simple printer, but this is a printer not only prints, but also copies, faxes, and scans! How great is that? I must say, the set-up has been a bit frustrating, as I had a crazy hard time connecting the printer to wifi. Our wifi is xfinity wifi, and I usually don't have a problem connecting devices. Once I finally had it properly connected to wifi (I first had to use wifi-direct for it to even recognize the wifi), I had issues connecting the printer to my laptop. Our laptop is a Dell running Windows 10 and it should be compatible with the laptop just fine. So... I will continue to troubleshoot with the printer and see why it will not work. It recognizes the printer, but continues to just say error. It prints fine from my phone. *This is a review for the Epson EcoTank ET-4850 Wireless Color Supertank Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.
Great Printer
This printer is great. I first started off with scanning pictures that I needed for a slide show. This was simple to do and the pictures turned out awesome! When I have printed some documents I was amazed at the speed in which it printed. Much faster than other printers I have used. The setup was a breeze and adding ink, to me, was super cool. The simplicity of inserting the ink bottle and letting it fill the tank was fun to watch. After about 10 minutes I was setup and full of ink and ready to start printing. Epson went backwards not forward ,, so sad
Loved my earlier Epson w Eco tank, this one is so much slower, seems to always disconnect from wireless operation, only 30 days to try and tweak and then no warranty. Something has happened to Epson, a $400 plus investment, that is far less valuable, in slow printing and finicky behaviors... Disappointed
