[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this about a month ago and it has been a learning curve as it is so different from our other washers. The one thing I do not like is the amount of water in the tub on a normal cycle as it isn't enough to cover the clothes in it. This leaves them dirty and smelly. We have to use another setting to get enough water but other than that, we like it.

I bought this because my Maytag was failing after 13 + years… I was concerned about the inner drum and leveler when it came to washing bulky items.. I was pleasantly surprised it worked like a champ and didn’t signal uneven load like my old Maytag! So I am pleased with its cleaning capabilities!

Purchased unit. After received, found that "Normal" cycle always defaults to HOT water. Looked for a way to program the cycle to permanently accept COLD water for the "Normal" cycle and you cannot do it! Also, if you want to use the THinQ app and change to cold, it will not allow you to change settings for preset cycles, you can only change at the machine directly and only for that one wash. This is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Most current articles tell you not to use HOT for washing, yet this machine default to HOT for the "normal" cycle. I have to change it manually at the machine every time and it is not possible to use the app because the app rejects any changes to present cycles. I may have to return it.

Fairly disappointed and wish I’d gone with a different model. There isn’t even a delicate cycle without downloading it. You also can’t soak your clothes without unplugging the machine. It is also much louder than our previous machine despite claiming to be quiet. I’m overall pretty disappointed. I would not rebuy and really wish I had had a chance to look in person before buying. I wouldn’t have chosen this one. The one positive thing is that it is big.

The instructions do not tell me enough to know how to fully use the machine and the features they brag to have. I am playing with the controls to reduce the wrinkling that is happening to the clothes. We hang dry some clothes to avoid shrinkage but the amount of wrinkling going on with the clothes is tremendous and have to toy with the features to figure out how to handle this. I have no clue how to use the additional programmed washes that are in the app nor how to start the washing machine from the app or how to set a default program. Very poor documentation. the manufacturer description is great if one knew how to use it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just replaced by old LG washer from 2011 with this new 8400 model and as the reviewer Logan101 said - there is NO soak option! The response from the LG Digital Care Team is NOT incorrect as there are no cycles or cycle options for soak that can be downloaded for this model. I started a chat session to get support and was told to use the Heavy Duty cycle, but there is no soak option with it. I would have picked another model, spending more if necessary, to have a soak option so be aware if you need this. Shame on LG for not specifying somewhere in the description. My 2011 model has this option, why get rid of something so simple??

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I bought this washer 1 month ago and it still works well it washes clothes very well and if you want more water press deep fill and turn it off when it reaches the level you like I love the turbo drum it really makes the clothes roll over even tho there is a lil bit of water but I do have one complaint and it’s the drain pump sometimes it’s makes strange noises and popping noises but overall it’s a good machine

I guess I thought I'd be more impressed from the reviews and LG name...honestly felt like I settled and I'm bummed. No delicate or prewash options. No light to see inside, top glass gets dirty immediately as it's not fingerprint proof, locks when filling vs. only when the washing begins, exact location required for to use app so I can't use it since LG doesn't need to be able to track my phone location-weird!!! Has a powder drawer but not a pod one, it makes the most hideous white noise screeching hum during the wash and it's VERY loud when filling. It's nearly impossible to customize ur wash...ur pretty much stuck to the preset options...example I can't use deep fill, turbo wash, warm water all together. Some brands have really cool features like a facuet in the tub for scrubbing or a mini scrubber that holds detergent that sits in the top, removable impeller, this has like nothing extra. Size and capacity are ok. I'm short and I can reach the bottom easily. It's sleek looking but honestly the gray matte looks like cheap paint next to my (other brand) gray shiny washer. So far we haven't had the dreaded black streaks some folks mentioned. It has short cycles such as Deep Wash which is less than an hour. It also has delay wash time that are I think up to 16 hrs which is kinda cool. Wish it had like a 20 hr one so u could have it done for the next day right before u need it.

Washer was perfect until I threw in a couple pillows on heavy duty and the motor made a sound so now it’s having some sort of issue with throwing power into the spin. Who do I contact for replacement or repairs since it’s still under its one year warranty? Would like this fixed as soon as possible!

We bought an LG washer and dryer in 2023 and in 2024 decided to sell our house. The buyers wanted both items as they knew they were new with warranties on them. So, we had to buy replacements. We bought new AI washer and dryer set in 2024. We love the AI feature where we can just set it and the computer figures out how to wash or dry the clothes. Also, love the scheduling features too.
