Poor service not worth the savings

Ordered tires; was told delivery would be 3-5 business days and that I would receive an email when they were ready. 2 weeks later I called to find out the tires were ready and they forgot to let me know. Set up and installation time (10:00am on a Sunday). Got to the store as it opened to check in; they didn't start the installation until 10:55am.

Make sure they have what you purchased in stock

They advertised some tires online and I was able to pay for them. Then when I got to the store they said the tires had a manufacturer date of 2019 on them and they could not sell me the tires.. So the guy decided that he would refund me my money so that he could charge me for a different set.. the only problem with that idea was that I would have to literally pay double for tires because the refund was not just going to automatically show up at my bank right now.. I’m still not sure why he could understand that they can take money from peoples account right away but it takes BUSINESS DAYS for them to give me my money back.. so I had to ask for a manager. The manager did make things right, but if I didn’t ask to speak with the manager I would have been out of luck!

Didn’t work out for me

The Sam’s Club auto department was unable to put new tires on my truck. Apparently, the lug nuts were swollen and needed to be replaced. The technicians at my local store were unable to remove the lug nuts and replace them as prescribed because they are not a “garage“. It was quite frustrating as I had driven an hour to have the work done. I was also told that if I took the tires that I had ordered/bought for someone else to put on, I would lose any warranty from Sam’s Club. I had to made the decision to return them and go elsewhere to have new tires put on. I will say, however, the return worked out to my advantage. In normal circumstances when you return an item, the code at the bottom is scanned and the entire transaction just gets reversed. For whatever reason, Sam’s Club registers make the cashier enter in each line item. The total did not come out to be the exact amount... it was $100 over . After calling a supervisor/manager to the desk the return was performed again and they called it good. I was $14 ahead. I used it for gas money. I don’t understand why the technology works this way.

Employee attitude and misbehavior with customer

I replace three tires on 8/16/25. The car was making a hissing noise while driving. Went back to the store on 8/29/25 [between 1-2 pm] after returning from an out of town trip. A technician and myself took a test ride in the parking lot. He determined that it is the break that has to be replaced. However, the person was very angry and scolded me and threatening to ban me from the store for future business. It was totally uncalled for, Instead of escalating the situation, I left the store. If he was working for me, I would dismissed him at the spot. Do not know his name as he was not wearing a name tag. Suggest hold the employee accountable and to train employee in anger management and customer relations as soon as possible.

"Mislead", just like Kool & the Gang

I experienced somewhat of a misleading ad. To get the tires I purchased I had to do it online. The ad stated that the tires were $258.99. The ad also stated that I would get $80 off if I purchased a set of 4. Also, there would be a charge of $20 per tire to install each one. The actual cost per tire was actually $277.99 and not the $258.99 that was advertised. The $277.99 was never mentioned until I actually paid my bill. The tires were already installed; so, I let it go! Lesson Learned!

Even pressures

Service desk personnel were courteous, helpful and professional. They clearly helped me find the best deal and price for the tires I needed. I was a bit surprised to find that the new tire installation left a significant 4-6 psi difference in tire pressures between driver side and passenger. Maybe tech should verify pressures before releasing vehicle.

Install good, need to carry a tire pressure gauge.

This is the third time I have bought tires at Sam's. Prices are great, staff is nice and the tire installation has been OK. The one consistently bad thing is the tire pressure. This one was 16lbs over inflated from recommended (32). Funny but that is actually an improvement over the previous install. The tires were inflated to 56lbs! on a tire recommended at 32 lbs. If I buy more tires there I am bring a pocket full of tire gauge to hand out as gifts, lol.

Botched Tire Order

Horrible experience!!! Ordered on Sam’s.com, confirmation from WalMart, they passed order to a third party, Frdex delivered to my home driveway blocking my car in garage, neighbor loaded tires in 2nd car, drive them to Sam’s Club who refused to install them because I didn’t purchase from that store. Had to order a 2nd set of tires from that club to get the tires I needed that they would install. Then I had a terrible time getting a refund on 1st set of tires. Still don’t have refund, but have returned tires. I’m a 100% disabled Vietnam vet. As I said, horrible time consuming experience.

AWESOME customer service

Sherril, Chris, Robert, Tyler, Jody went the extra mile for my tire installation in Wilmington NC. After having bad experiences in the past I gave Sam's another chance. I was totally amazed with the service I received. Tyler went out of the way to see if things were going well. Then Jody came and spoke with me personally. She even remembered me from the last time we spoke. Sherril was so professional and sympathetic to my situation with my tires. She immediately got me in to get my tires checked as I was concerned for my safety on the road. Her kindness went the extra step of customer service. Chris came and discussed my tires and since a sale was going on I decided to buy a new set of tires and give Sam's Club another try. I purchased them after Chris explain the situation so that I could understand. I got exactly what I was told I was purchasing. Chris did an amazing job helping me. We set up an installation appointment. This is where Robert came into the picture. He and Sherril did my installation. Robert told me if there was any kind of a problem to please let him know and Sam's would make it right. He definitely went beyond that day. Then I got a surprise a few days later. Robert took time out of his busy day to cal me to see if the tires were better than my last set and if everything was going well. This is superior customer service that I haven't seen much of since Covid hit this plant. Thank you to all that work in the Tire department and thank you for going the extra mile for me!!!

Don't Buy Trailer Tires from Sam's or Walmart

Received trailer tires at my home which was supposed to been sent to Sam's. Sam's refused to install the tires that I purchased because it didn't come to their store. They told me to return the tires to the company and come in and reorder the tires in the store. I had to have the tires installed by another company spending more for installation. I will not buy any tires from Sam's in the future. I ordered trailer tires earlier from Walmart and after three weeks they never came in. I am very disgusted.
