Not right the first time

One of the tires did not balance the first time. When I took it back to rebalance I was told the tire was bad. They ordered a replacement tire. That part is now ok. I feel that should have been determined at the beginning. On another wheel the air was slowly leaking. I ask Sams to address the issue. I was told a valve stem was bent and leaking. I purchased a new stem from a parts store. Sam’s club installed the new part. That took care of the problem. The air was not leaking before the new tires were installed.

Tire pressure 101

The technician refused to adjust the tire pressure so it would be correct when the tires were outside in 32degree temperature. He used air from inside the building (70degrees), which when it cools down outside would make the tires UNder-inflated. The whole reason there is a placard in the door jam is so car owners know the proper pressure for cold tire inflation; it's really important for safety (and proper tire wear). So why would the person I trust to safely install my brand new Michelin tires knowingly incorrectly inflate them? He said I could let the car set outside in the parking lot until the pressure dropped after the air in the tires cooled off, and then he'd add more air to correct the under-inflation.... So, after I drove 60 miles home (UNder-inflated) I myself had to add air to get the tire pressure up to what the placard required. A 70 F degree tire at 35 psi , will be several psi UNder-inflated at 32 F degrees. That's why the owners manual says to check the tire pressure when outside temperature changes with the seasons.... Even a store Manager couldn't persuade him to do it correctly.

bad experience

The Good Year tires were installed in March 2024, in April 2024 one of them got damaged then my nightmare started. The Sams club fixed the tire, I requested multiple times then they replace it but tires has lot of irregularities, bumps. I again contacted, club management and online customer service try to resolve the situation. Finally the tires were not good and replaced with Michelin tire in June 2024.

Sam’s Cust Svc is shameful

Sadly after the reviews and various online posts about this experience, I still get a survey asking about my experience. If this doesn’t illustrate my point I doubt anything will in the eyes of Sam’s Club leadership. I bought my tires in store on 11/26. I indicated the size needed (265/65r18) and pointed out the stack of them available on the store floor. The salesman acknowledged this. I waited almost 3 weeks for my install appt to find the salesrep ordered tires in the wrong size (265/70r17) and the tires I originally pointed out had been sold in the interim. Upon this discovery another sales rep indicated I would have to wait til 12/24 or an additional 10 days to fix their screwup. I declined this offer and have since filed complaints on various review sites and Facebook posts with little interest shown from Sam’s aside from insincere apologies and wanting a side chat on Messenger while no efforts were made in store or via email to make it right. The very fact this email is asking about my installation when it should be clear to all involved that there wasn’t one to begin with is amusing. No calls from a manager, just more of this type of incompetence, in case there was any doubt who I was dealing with. I imagine the “It’s busy and we haven’t had the opportunity to address this yet” variety of excuse could be bought forth, meanwhile the store manager is posting videos on Facebook playing with a toy Ferris wheel in store.

Issues with Installation Package

The Sams Club installation package is convenient and reasonable, but I've had several issues with the installation team's work. On my two recent tire installations, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) caution light has illuminated after installing the tires. I don't know whether this situation is coincidental or a result of the installation team damaging the sensor in the wheel when removing and replacing the tires. I do know that the TPMS wasn't on prior to the work. On a recent tire rotation, the team over-torqued the lug nuts thus distorting the rotor. Sams Club reimbursed the cost of smoothing out the rotor. In a time with high personnel turnover, unknown training, and casual attitudes, I suspect the quality of work in the Installation Package that Sams Club provides.

They don't care about customer service

Had tires installed on a Sunday. Swaying a bit on the highway the next day. Checked air, over 100 pounds in tires. They called for 75. 3 days later, my TPMS lit up. Got out and checked, one rear tire was going down. I was within a mile of Sam's. Went in, talked to man at tire department. He said sorry, they were busy, he could get me in 3 days later! I'm getting a flat in their parking lot, on a tire they put on, under their warranty!. I called a tire store a few blocks away. Went there, seems the TPMS was broken. Apparently when installed. Cost me $112 to get it fixed. Never get tires installed at Sam's again.

Ask to be switched to your store, not Singapore!

When I got to the store at my appointment time, I was told I didn’t have an appointment. And the tires I reserved were not in stock. The people there were able to get me in as a walk-in and I picked out some other tires. Turns out when I thought I was calling the store I was routed to someone in Singapore. I was the second person that day whose appointment was a fantasy, even though I had an emailed confirmation. Get it together, Sam’s Club. This was terrible service.

Worst Customer Service Ever

Horrible customer service. Received a call that our warranty replacement tire (Still Charged us $100) was ready. When we arrived we were told that since we didn't have an appointment they couldn't help us. When I asked why they called and said it was ready I was told that is a call center in India and they don't have anything to do with the local club. Every bay was empty and 5 techs were sitting on tires playing on their phones. Asked if we could do our shopping and if they might have time in a couple hours, and were told to check back. An two hours later all 5 techs were still sitting playing on their phones and no cars had come or gone from the tire center. I just asked for my unmounted tire and took it to a local shop to have mounted. Took 10 minutes and I was out the door from a company that wanted my business. Considering just giving up my Sam's Club membership as the service has become progressively worse.

Changed my life, at least when it relates to tires

I've gone to the same tire shop in town since I've lived here. For 20 years I've gone to the same place because of trust. Now i goto to Sams one day, happen to see a sweet deal for free installation and some more money off a set of 4 tires. Sign me up. The next week i come in and wait around. One of the two guys working calls me about an hour and a half later asking if i ever had tire issues and where i had it serviced. I told him i had to get valve stems replaced often. We talked after that and figured out what what happening. I really appreciate the time they took to fix my vehicle and explain everything to me. I had to wait and it caused others to wait behind me, but they were great. I watched them running the back and front desk for over and hour. The only thing i forgot was their names. Thank you both. 5/2/25 5pm
