Tire Finder Issues

Sam's Tire Finder Needs Help. My 1968 Impala shows all 15 inch tires in the Sam's tire finder, however mine came from the factory with 14 inch tires. Going to a local tire store website shows the correct tire. I was able to show this to the store personnel and they honored the installation package, however my receipt shows that I only brought the wheels in. I question whether in the future Sams will honor the road hazard and rotation that is included in the tire package. It would be nice for them to add a little more attention to detail on the tire finder. It is a great product with great prices.

Not a great expeience

Install was terrible. Ordered tires online. Got the email that they were in and to call to set up an appointment. Make the appointment. Show up, pay for the tires and give my phone number. They will call when completed. I was told it takes 30-45 minutes. I walked around the club for an hour and then went to see what was up. Get to the desk to be told that they can not find the tires I ordered. My car is jacked up, tires pulled just sitting there. I understand it happens but asked why they did not call me sooner so I did not walk around wasting my time. No answer. They also had no solution on what to do. My tires were pretty bald.Long story short they gave me a 20 dollar gift card and sent me on my way. I ended up getting my tires elsewhere. They are nice quiet tires.

Issues with Installation Package

The Sams Club installation package is convenient and reasonable, but I've had several issues with the installation team's work. On my two recent tire installations, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) caution light has illuminated after installing the tires. I don't know whether this situation is coincidental or a result of the installation team damaging the sensor in the wheel when removing and replacing the tires. I do know that the TPMS wasn't on prior to the work. On a recent tire rotation, the team over-torqued the lug nuts thus distorting the rotor. Sams Club reimbursed the cost of smoothing out the rotor. In a time with high personnel turnover, unknown training, and casual attitudes, I suspect the quality of work in the Installation Package that Sams Club provides.

Long wait for scheduled appointment. Customer gets email saying please arrive on time, then waits an hour before service. Now, having to take more time off to have tires balanced so I don't dribble down the road. Would like to charge Sam's for MY time!

Calibrate your equipment

The technicians are wonderful, but I believe that the tire balancer at my Sam's needs to be recalibrated. I bought a new set of tires for my 4Runner, but I had to come back in because there was a wobble. They checked my tires, and I was told that I might have to come back in for one of the tires because it was calling for more weight than usual. I did have to bring it back in for a new tire due to the wobble. At that time, I was told that it was my wheel that was defective, and I needed to take it to my Toyota dealership. I took my 4Runner to the dealership, they tested my wheel and found nothing wrong with the wheel. They balanced the wheel with less weight than Sam's did, and now there is no wobble. This cost me an extra $110. and Toyota suggested I let Sam's know that there may be something wrong with their balancing machine.

TIRE SHOP NIGHTMARE

The installer couldn't get the last lug nut off, so I was told to take the vehicle somewhere else to get it removed and the last tire mounted. I took it to another tire company and sat down to wait for them to work me in and when they saw the tire with a bulge around the tire they told me to take it back and get a new tire to mount. I did take it back and she ordered another tire, though stated there wasn't anything wrong. I asked her why the three new tires looked no better than the 1 tire still on the vehicle.lk "Oh we don't have tire shine, they won't give that to us". I stated my incredulity at that policy if true. At that moment I was resolved it was such a poor-- terrible experience I would never buy a tire there again. I had to come back the next day when the new tire arrived to have it mounted and was given a $40.00 refund for my inconvenience. All four tires had been cleaned up but didn't look like tire shine. Grade F

Horrible customer service and communication

Went to counter to order tires, took 20 minutes before somebody got to counter. Actually, asked another person from other department to get them. Never received a call to say they were in. After 2 weeks passed, I called them and found out they had been there and was then able to set up appointment. Also at install, asked when would be ready, they said about an hour. After about 80 minutes, went to counter to ask and was told it just got finished. After all other issues, not sure I believed them.

Slow to order, slower to install!

Took a week and a half to get an appointment once the tires came in. Total of 3 weeks from order date. Other retailers seem to be able to get tires quicker. Not sure why I had to wait a week and a half for install. Maybe need more people on board. Once in, the staff was friendly and professional.
