Poor documentation
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The washer seems to wash well but I have several concerns. The instructions do not tell me enough to know how to fully use the machine and the features they brag to have. I am playing with the controls to reduce the wrinkling that is happening to the clothes. We hang dry some clothes to avoid shrinkage but the amount of wrinkling going on with the clothes is tremendous and have to toy with the features to figure out how to handle this. I have no clue how to use the additional programmed washes that are in the app nor how to start the washing machine from the app or how to set a default program. Very poor documentation. the manufacturer description is great if one knew how to use it.

Few quirks but overall happy
After 20 years my old reliable broke and I was forced to make a choice on a new machine. I was really impressed by the look and features of this washer and it was on a deep discount so I was sold. It’s been a month now. It is great for larger loads and I feel like everything comes out super clean. It is not so great for very small loads. The detergent tray always has excess product/water when I am preparing to start the next cycle so that’s a little annoying but not a big deal. Overall happy with this machine and hope it lasts a long time.
No what I expected
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to get my new LG washer delivered today. I started a load of bedding which consisted of a lightweight coverlet, one sheet and two pillowcases. The tub filled up with water which was a lot nicer than my last washer that would barely wet the clothes, so of course I sat and watched my clothes go through the cycles and to my disappointment the bedding floated at the top while the washer shifted back and forth. The bedding never changed positions as if it was actually being washed. It floated around in a circle and only changed positions in the spin cycle. This is extremely disappointing.
Hi there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand your situation with the WT8400CB washer and the issue of your bedding not being properly agitated. Your feedback is important, and we'd like to assist you further. One troubleshooting step you can try is to redistribute the load to ensure an even distribution, as an uneven load can cause items to float and not agitate properly. Also, consider using the "Bulky/Bedding" cycle for such loads, as it is designed to handle larger items like comforters and blankets more effectively. Many Options But Limited
I just purchased this washer and am very disappointed on how it works. My previous washer (which I will be fixing and re-using) is 20 years old and I have the ability to adjust the water level. I understand that the new washers have this done by the computer but there is a problem with the water level. If I select a normal wash, I am not able to remove the turbo wash option. The machine uses very little water and most of the clothing isn't even submerged in water. If you select the deep fill option it does work but it uses way too much water. I also used the bedding cycle and that uses way too much water for bedding sheets. It should be called a comforter setting instead. I also had some steam end up on my floor after a few cycles. Not exactly sure if this is normal or not. Furthermore there is also a little pool of water on the impeller after the end of the cycle dripping from the laundry detergent. While the impeller is plastic it shouldn't be there IMO. LG please give users the ability to select their OWN water level if the stupid computer can't figure it out.
Hi Niko. Your LG washer is designed to save money by being energy and water efficient. So, no need to worry about your clothes not being covered with water. The Built-in intelligence takes out the guesswork—AI technology selects optimal wash settings for you. If you see water dripping from the dispenser, ensure the trays are placed properly. Check these tips here: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-washer-water-left-in-dispenser--1337625067361. If this persists after these troubleshooting steps, private message us on social media @LGUSSupport with your contact details . We'll be happy to continue finding a solution. ^David
Great Investment!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this washer after a couple of years of being in a new home. We simply believe this was a great investment as previously we had a refurbished washer. We love all the features and the fact it sends phone notifications to let us know when the cycle is over especially since have 2 boys we forget about switching clothes based on our busy schedule. I would definitely recommend this to family & friends!

Great features!
We bought an LG washer and dryer in 2023 and in 2024 decided to sell our house. The buyers wanted both items as they knew they were new with warranties on them. So, we had to buy replacements. We bought new AI washer and dryer set in 2024. We love the AI feature where we can just set it and the computer figures out how to wash or dry the clothes. Also, love the scheduling features too.

Thought I'd be more wowed
I guess I thought I'd be more impressed from the reviews and LG name...honestly felt like I settled and I'm bummed. No delicate or prewash options. No light to see inside, top glass gets dirty immediately as it's not fingerprint proof, locks when filling vs. only when the washing begins, exact location required for to use app so I can't use it since LG doesn't need to be able to track my phone location-weird!!! Has a powder drawer but not a pod one, it makes the most hideous white noise screeching hum during the wash and it's VERY loud when filling. It's nearly impossible to customize ur wash...ur pretty much stuck to the preset options...example I can't use deep fill, turbo wash, warm water all together. Some brands have really cool features like a facuet in the tub for scrubbing or a mini scrubber that holds detergent that sits in the top, removable impeller, this has like nothing extra. Size and capacity are ok. I'm short and I can reach the bottom easily. It's sleek looking but honestly the gray matte looks like cheap paint next to my (other brand) gray shiny washer. So far we haven't had the dreaded black streaks some folks mentioned. It has short cycles such as Deep Wash which is less than an hour. It also has delay wash time that are I think up to 16 hrs which is kinda cool. Wish it had like a 20 hr one so u could have it done for the next day right before u need it.

Wifi connected, AI wash, Quiet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a month ago or so. Its very well made. I just use AI wash pretty much every time. Very quiet and I just need to drop the liquid detergent and forget about it as it automatically dispenses the liquid. It also looks great in the home :) matt black.
No
I bought this a few days ago. As someone else posted: When you set the washer to NORMAL, the default settings are WRONG. When you set it to QUICK Wash, the default settings are WRONG. The user manual indicates what they should be but that is not what happens. It defaults to SUPER HOT and HIGH SPIN for most of the DEFAULTS. Sure.. you can modify them but why have a cycle setting if you have modify it EVERY TIME. I am in agreement here with this reviewer. I don't want to return my machine, but I will. So frustrating!!
Thank you for sharing your experience, that’s certainly not the ease-of-use we aim to deliver, and we’d love to help review your settings or explore if a software update might help. Reach us through social media @LGUSSUpport, we'd love to provide one on one assistance! ^Jose
Great Wash Options & Efficiency at Great Price!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We replaced our 10yo LG Top Loader after the control board went out on the old one. We were so impressed with how the old unit worked we continued with LG. This new unit does loads even faster, uses less water (but plenty to saturate all items and clean well), is very simple to use, and is a great value for the cost. The new design makes reaching items in the bottom of the tub easier. We’ve had the new unit for a couple weeks and have run NUMEROUS loads of every kind and variety, including small loads to very full loads - everything comes out clean! It is amazing how it can spin at 950rpm and be so quiet with virtually no vibration. Very easy to set up and maintain. Control panel took some adjusting to use but is simple once we identified our preferred settings. Black top and control panel does gather fingerprints but is easily wiped down. Consumer Reports had this listed as their 2nd best Top Loading Impeller Washer, only 1 point behind the #1 washer which was also an LG! We are very pleased with our purchase. Highly recommended!!
Hey there. Sounds like you're getting the best of both worlds—efficiency and performance! It's great to hear that the upgraded design makes loading and unloading easier while still delivering powerful, quiet washes. With so many customizable settings and a strong Consumer Reports rating, it’s clear why you stuck with LG. Enjoy your new washer! ^ Diego
