I bought this washer for my horse barn. It has a large capacity for washing horse blankets. So far it has been doing a great job. Sometimes we have to use extra rinse with extra dirty blankets but they come out nice.

New Washer WT8400CW from LG
Our first LG have been Maytag for the last 35 years. Went with Consumer Report recommendation. Very quiet. It would be great if there was a breakdown of what spin, soil cycles to choose for the different types of loads. Our previous washer had a selection for delicate , I guess we are left to determine how we set it up by selecting the spin and soil from low to high. Otherwise we have put through 6 washes so far and all is great.

Super washer; clearer feature instructions, please
This is a great washer! I’m still learning about its features! I like that the water level is adjusted to the size of the load. I set up my phone with the app and it’s great to have a notification when the load has finished, and that the app keeps track of the number and types of loads for machine cleaning. I do find that some of the features (e.g. ‘deep fill’) are not clearly explained in the machine manual. I do end up googling questions and reading information from other users. Clearer instructions about each feature/icon would be most helpful!

Running well Cleans well Quiet , spin cycle is the loudest but still quieter than our old machine . Features are nice and easy to navigate . Because of companies making adhawk changes to use of product I suggest do not give machine access to your internet for updates and such. You may be forced into pay for use and or loose your right to sue .You may be forced into arbitration on any dispute . All this will and may occur during a future update . Read up on this new trend .

I would be very careful if you buy this machine to make sure that you run the clean cycle regularly and wash something often in hot water. My husband and I learned the hard way. After just a couple years of using the proper amount and kind of detergent and cleaning periodically (maybe every 60 days), the washer is emitting tons of dreadful black flakes we have been working on this for days (trying all sort of remedies) we think we finally have it under control. The design of the impeller is terrible and traps the gunk at a place that is difficult to get to. Until this happened it worked great, was quiet and quick. We learned our lesson as habitual cold water wash people.

Avoid buying this machine
I have been using this washer for 2 months now and I am very disappointed. The detergent dispensing tray on this top load washer is very poorly designed. The detergent does not fully rinse from the tray and once a wash cycle is done, the leftover residue that’s sitting in the tray and along the dispenser chute continue to drip onto the finished load. So unless the clothes are removed instantly after the cycle is done, you will return to your machine to fine a large puddle of detergent sitting on top of your freshly rinsed clothes forcing you to run another rinse & drain cycle. This is a definite flaw in the dispenser design as my machine is perfectly level, excellent water pressure, and I use a detergent with a very thin viscosity. So no excuses there.
I am truly sorry for the frustration this dispenser issue has caused you over the past two months. I completely understand how disappointing it is to find detergent dripping onto your freshly cleaned clothes, especially when you have already ensured the machine is level and your water pressure is excellent. HATE IT EVERY WASH - Regret buying it
I loved my last LG washer but couldn't fix it, so I considered no other brands. I regret that. I hate this machine! The black glass lid is very difficult to see through. Nothing will stay on the lid because it's slanted. I can't sort or fold clothes, put my laundry basket or anything else on it. Shortening the front doesn't mean the lid couldn't be level. NO SOAK, rinse temp, or functional spin only options. NO delicates, towels or other common cycles. They have to be downloaded; but, only 1 at a time. Turbowash can't be turned off in some cycles & it cuts cycle time to close to or less than a simple rinse & spin cycle. How can it properly wash clothes at that speed? To get close to a true regular cycle I have to add an extra rinse, but that changes the cycle to a deep wash (whatever that means) which is different than a deep fill. Options (like extra rinse) can change the cycle &/or reset default cycle settings (such hot water wash); so, I must remember to double check & remake my changes to temp, spin speed & soil level. Obviously, no typical adult consumers (25+, 50+ years old, women, men, mothers, dads, people who sort their clothes before washing them, etc) tested prototypes before putting it on the market. I do like that the app tells me when a load is done. There's no satisfaction guarantee. I wish LG would take this back and refund my total purchase amount, not replace the washer. I TRULY HATE IT.
