Very poor spin cycle
I chose this specific washer because I have a very high laundry load and needed the large capacity drum. It does NOT handle a large load, smaller than the front loader I replaced. It will NOT spin out a load, goes into error mode with almost every load. Have to reset to manual spin. This is also causing my drying time to increase. Very disappointed!
Hi Tami, we understand you took a moment to share your experience with your LG WT8400CW 5.5 cu. ft. Mega Capacity Smart Top Load Washer, and we appreciate you letting us know. This washer is designed for high‑volume laundry needs with its large drum, TurboWash3D performance, and AI sensing that adjusts each cycle for strong cleaning results. Since you mentioned the washer is not completing the spin cycle, here are a few quick steps that can help: ⦁ Make sure the load is evenly distributed, especially with towels or bedding ⦁ Break very heavy loads into two balanced loads ⦁ Check that the washer is level on all four feet ⦁ Confirm the cycle is set to a high spin speed when needed For more guidance, this LG support article covers the most common reasons a washer may not spin: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-washer-troubleshooting-washing-machine-drum-not-spinning--20150584818000 If you need further assistance, feel free to email lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com. ^Rich
Can't find part
The washer was a great washer.. but The inlet valve went out and I can't find the part to fix it. We have only had it for 2 years and if I can't find the part we will have to buy a whole new washing machine. I have the right model number and the right part number.
Hi, Chad. Thank you for sharing your experience with your LG WT8400CB Washer. We appreciate you letting us know what’s been going on with the inlet valve, and we understand how important it is to be able to replace a part quickly so you can keep using a washer you’ve been happy with. Since you already have the correct model and part number, we recommend checking availability through LG‑authorized parts suppliers, as stock can vary depending on demand. The inlet valve you’re looking for can be found here: https://lgparts.com/products/aju75152601-washer-water-inlet-valve If you’d like us to review your unit or help explore additional options, feel free to reach out to us at lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com. Would not recommend
We’ve had this washer/gas dryer for just under a year. I wish I would have repaired my 15 year old Bosch dryer instead of buying LG. Washer is ok but the dryer is the worst. It literally takes 3 hours to dry a load of 6 towels. Buyers remorse immediately.
Hey there, we understand you shared your experience after using the LG WT8400CB Top Load Washer, and we appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. It’s great to hear that the washer has been working well for you, and we value the trust you’ve placed in LG products over the years. Since you mentioned that your gas dryer is taking longer than expected to dry towels, a couple of quick checks can often help improve performance: • Make sure the lint filter is fully clean before each cycle • Confirm the exhaust vent is clear and not restricted, as airflow has a big impact on dry time If the dryer still takes longer than you expect, this LG support guide offers helpful steps: • https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-dryer-why-is-my-dryer-not-heating-not-drying-or-taking-a-long-time-drying--1432223739634 If you need further assistance, feel free to email lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com. ^Rich
Okay Washer
My LG top load washer is an okay washer! So far, it is quiet and gets the job done. Presently, my only problem with it is at 5’1” tall it is hard to reach into to retrieve the clothing. This is when I wish I still had my front loader.
Hi! We appreciate you sharing your experience with your LG WT8400CB Washer. We are glad to hear that it runs quietly and washes your clothes effectively. An unwashing machine
Since day 1 this machine has not cleaned well. We're always having to rewash clothes because some don't get rinsed well, some end up with a strong smell, and some simply don't get wet at all. We're using far more water and still don't have very clean clothes. Both times with help chat have taken hours and only gone through the same basic steps you find with a search online with zero results. The last time kept insisting I clean the machine to remove build up. We've had the machine for 3 months and it's never done the job. We're running cleaning tabs through the clean tub cycle and following the instructions for loads. Still mostly a waste of time and resources. Higher water bill, higher electricity bill, fewer wearable clothes and usable materials.

We understand how challenging it can feel when your machine hasn’t been cleaning effectively from the very beginning, especially after multiple attempts to troubleshoot and follow recommended care steps. Horrible product - can cause serious injury
This washer can cause serious harm! The top base and lid easily creates deep cracks. We have had our washer for under two years. The top base and lid have developed multiple cracks - some are deep cracks and can cause serious harm if you are not careful loading items. The cracks have caused the lid to start slamming shut. Pieces of the machine have ended up in the drum of the washer.
Hi, Amanda. We appreciate you sharing your experience with your LG WT8400CW Washer, and we want you to have a unit that feels safe and reliable in daily use. Cracking on the top cover or lid can sometimes develop if the washer isn’t fully level or if the lid is closing with added pressure during cycles, and checking that the machine is balanced on all four feet can help reduce stress on the top assembly. Inspecting the hinge area for any obstruction and ensuring the lid is opening and closing smoothly can also help prevent further wear. While there isn’t a specific support article tied to this issue, we’d like to review your case more closely and help determine the best next steps. Please email us at lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com so we can assist you directly. LG Digital Care ^James
Failed in less than 30 days
Bought washer on 11-March-2026. Failed on 8-April-2026. Call center couldn’t help much and have to get a service tech out. Through the troubleshooting, we discover the LG installer reversed the hot and cold water. Washer just gets stuck on filling the machine even when trying to run a spin only cycle.
Hi. Thank you for sharing what happened with your LG Washer. We appreciate the clear details about the LG unit failing shortly after installation and that the hot and cold water lines were reversed. We understand how important it is for the washer to fill and operate correctly, especially when a spin‑only cycle is getting stuck due to the incorrect water connection. To allow us to properly investigate the details of your specific product model and to see how we can assist with your filling‑and‑cycle issue being encountered, please send us an email at lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com if you need further assistance. ^James
