Poor documentation
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The washer seems to wash well but I have several concerns. The instructions do not tell me enough to know how to fully use the machine and the features they brag to have. I am playing with the controls to reduce the wrinkling that is happening to the clothes. We hang dry some clothes to avoid shrinkage but the amount of wrinkling going on with the clothes is tremendous and have to toy with the features to figure out how to handle this. I have no clue how to use the additional programmed washes that are in the app nor how to start the washing machine from the app or how to set a default program. Very poor documentation. the manufacturer description is great if one knew how to use it.

Terrible panel design/Good washing capacity
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 3 star review mainly because you cannot see the power button in a room where the light is not right on top of the machine. Who ever has ever heard of this? A design flaw for sure. The panel is difficult to see in general. My other gripe is the horrible directions and does not come with quick start, easy to understand directions. I have no complaints when it comes to washing and the clothes getting clean A on that. I wanted a large capacity to wash my blankets and heavy loads. Fix the panel design.

Thought I'd be more wowed
I guess I thought I'd be more impressed from the reviews and LG name...honestly felt like I settled and I'm bummed. No delicate or prewash options. No light to see inside, top glass gets dirty immediately as it's not fingerprint proof, locks when filling vs. only when the washing begins, exact location required for to use app so I can't use it since LG doesn't need to be able to track my phone location-weird!!! Has a powder drawer but not a pod one, it makes the most hideous white noise screeching hum during the wash and it's VERY loud when filling. It's nearly impossible to customize ur wash...ur pretty much stuck to the preset options...example I can't use deep fill, turbo wash, warm water all together. Some brands have really cool features like a facuet in the tub for scrubbing or a mini scrubber that holds detergent that sits in the top, removable impeller, this has like nothing extra. Size and capacity are ok. I'm short and I can reach the bottom easily. It's sleek looking but honestly the gray matte looks like cheap paint next to my (other brand) gray shiny washer. So far we haven't had the dreaded black streaks some folks mentioned. It has short cycles such as Deep Wash which is less than an hour. It also has delay wash time that are I think up to 16 hrs which is kinda cool. Wish it had like a 20 hr one so u could have it done for the next day right before u need it.

Motor Broken
Washer was perfect until I threw in a couple pillows on heavy duty and the motor made a sound so now it’s having some sort of issue with throwing power into the spin. Who do I contact for replacement or repairs since it’s still under its one year warranty? Would like this fixed as soon as possible!

Great Investment!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this washer after a couple of years of being in a new home. We simply believe this was a great investment as previously we had a refurbished washer. We love all the features and the fact it sends phone notifications to let us know when the cycle is over especially since have 2 boys we forget about switching clothes based on our busy schedule. I would definitely recommend this to family & friends!

Love the large capacity and technology!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this when we decided to get rid of our old front loader. I love the large capacity. What I used to do in 2-3 loads I can do in 1 now. I also love that I can wash my king size comforter in it! I like the variety of washes from a deep wash to a quick one. I really enjoy that it has an app and will notify me when the cycle ends. I do find it is gentler on the clothes than the front loader or an agitator. However it hasn’t had any trouble getting out my 3year old or 8month olds messes. I have had to do a little pre scrub or a second wash every once in a while on the 8month olds messes but it still gets the job done.
Hi Tab, thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review of the WT8400CW. It’s great to hear how much the mega capacity has streamlined your laundry routine — going from multiple loads to just one is a huge win. Being able to wash a king‑size comforter with ease and having a wide range of wash options really adds to the convenience. The app notifications are a helpful bonus, especially on busy days. It’s also great to know the washer is gentle on clothes while still handling tough messes from little ones. A bit of pre‑treating is normal, and it sounds like the machine is still getting the job done well for your family. No light
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: very deep washing tub Easy to reach into No agitator Cleans clothes very well AI wash seems to be my go to option Cons: No drum light?!? Feel like engineering really missed the mark with that one. Why even have a glass top? No steam options
Great Washer
I'm reading other reviews on this washer and I'm confused as to the complaints of the machine being "loud" or not washing clothes properly. The machine is very quiet and has left my clothes pretty clean after a wash. No complaints from my end, I've noticed that this washer does a great job.

Terrible inverter coil whine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The washer is huge and does almost everything right. My reason I can only give it 3 stars is that the inverter for the motor has terrible coil whine. It makes a really loud, high pitched noise that drives give my wife and I a headache. If I was 20 years older, this wouldn’t be an issue because it’s normal to lose the ability to hear higher frequencies. We called maintenance to have them try and look at it, but the maintenance man was older, and therefore could not hear the sound and thought my wife and I were crazy. He wouldn’t listen to me when I tried to explain the issue, so he left telling me everything was fine.

Many Options But Limited
I just purchased this washer and am very disappointed on how it works. My previous washer (which I will be fixing and re-using) is 20 years old and I have the ability to adjust the water level. I understand that the new washers have this done by the computer but there is a problem with the water level. If I select a normal wash, I am not able to remove the turbo wash option. The machine uses very little water and most of the clothing isn't even submerged in water. If you select the deep fill option it does work but it uses way too much water. I also used the bedding cycle and that uses way too much water for bedding sheets. It should be called a comforter setting instead. I also had some steam end up on my floor after a few cycles. Not exactly sure if this is normal or not. Furthermore there is also a little pool of water on the impeller after the end of the cycle dripping from the laundry detergent. While the impeller is plastic it shouldn't be there IMO. LG please give users the ability to select their OWN water level if the stupid computer can't figure it out.
Hi Niko. Your LG washer is designed to save money by being energy and water efficient. So, no need to worry about your clothes not being covered with water. The Built-in intelligence takes out the guesswork—AI technology selects optimal wash settings for you. If you see water dripping from the dispenser, ensure the trays are placed properly.
