Not impressed with the quality of this spreader given the price. I've used quite a few spreaders over my years and thought a Scott's spreader would be a great buy since they are in the business. Boy was I WRONG. There is a design flaw with this spreader that causes fertilizer to drop straight down when it hits the retracted edgeguard in the back. You won't notice this right away, but after some rain you will see 6-8" wide lines on your lawn where you walked.

Haven't used this spreader much but filled both tires with air after coming out of storage for the winter because it wouldn't roll with pellitized lime loaded in it. Boom, one tire exploded shortly after. Filled both the same way 25psi max pressure. Need to locate parts to repair or scrap the unit.

Bought new Scott's Edgeguard Spreader at Home Depot this spring. Never should have given our neighbor our old Scott's spreader from years ago. It worked OK but thought the upgrade feature of Edgeguard would be nice. Last fall we did EXPENSIVE complete kill, new soil, seed of our lawn. Now using the Scott's Edgeguard we have stripes in our new lawn! Seems were I Walk it's dropping more fertilizer than it should. No matter what I do. Triple checked and definitely not user error. Wide yellow/light green stripe and narrower dark green striped repeating pattern. Very disappointing. Looking for a replacement spreader now. And different brand than Scott's!

Had this spreader for just one season and it never worked correctly. Out of the box it had a bad wheel, Scotts replaced it after waiting several weeks. Using the spreader was difficult, the wheels are too small to hold a full hopper and the auger design is a failure. The auger unit stops spinning and upon examination it appears to load up from debris from the fertilizer rendering it useless. It cannot be disassembled nor can it be cleaned. I tried everything to get this to spread with no luck.DO NOT BUY.

I've had this spreader for a little over a year and the plastic on the wheel has degraded. (Poor engineering design for the price). I'd purchased this spreader thinking it would last as long as my previous Scott spreader (10 years Hard plastic wheels). I wanted the rubber tires to be smoother going over my lawn. Really disappointed in the product No I'm shopping for a new one

I owned this model for 18 months. After the first 6 months I contacted Tech Support and they sent me new wheels since they didn't hold air. Had to pump them every time I used. (replacement tires didn't help) This year, the 8-9th time I've used on my 12,000 SQ Ft lawn...the axel broke...total loss. Very disappointed. I had upgraded to this PRO model from an 8 year old Scotts broadcast spreader...I really wanted the larger capacity and the edgeguard. I wish I had kept the old one after problems with the wheels. Now I wish I had kept the old one to finish my yard!

I bought this spreader fall 2017 thinking the word "pro" meant it would last. I have used the spreader 4 times and the sometimes the spinner that broadcasts fertilizer works and sometimes it doesn't. I've noticed the local retailers no longer carries this model. This is very disappointing to spend the extra money for a "professional" model and not only based upon my comments but also many others, Scott's missed the mark on this product. I have always been a proponent of using Scott's products but this is making me question my decision.

This spreader has been an aggravation since day 1. Thankfully it just broke so I can purchase a different brand.

The should have called this a "Green-Line-Maker", NOT a Broadcast Spreader! Thankfully, in the big scheme of things, it's only grass.

Thought by spending the extra money for a "better" spreader you would think it would last. After two seasons a wheel fell off. Plastic hubs holding the wheels do not hold up. Never purchase another Scott's spreader!
