Broadcast wheel will not spin!
I bought this “PRO” fertilizer spreader last summer and used it once for fall application. This spring filled with Scott's product, but now the broadcast wheel will not turn. There is no adjustment that can be made to get the wheel to turn the shaft that drives the spinner...... plastic junk!!!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS EXPENSIVE piece of junk!!!! I do not recommend purchasing!!

Very Poor
I owned this model for 18 months. After the first 6 months I contacted Tech Support and they sent me new wheels since they didn't hold air. Had to pump them every time I used. (replacement tires didn't help) This year, the 8-9th time I've used on my 12,000 SQ Ft lawn...the axel broke...total loss. Very disappointed. I had upgraded to this PRO model from an 8 year old Scotts broadcast spreader...I really wanted the larger capacity and the edgeguard. I wish I had kept the old one after problems with the wheels. Now I wish I had kept the old one to finish my yard!

Broadcast Spinner Unreliable
I bought this spreader fall 2017 thinking the word "pro" meant it would last. I have used the spreader 4 times and the sometimes the spinner that broadcasts fertilizer works and sometimes it doesn't. I've noticed the local retailers no longer carries this model. This is very disappointing to spend the extra money for a "professional" model and not only based upon my comments but also many others, Scott's missed the mark on this product. I have always been a proponent of using Scott's products but this is making me question my decision.

Used it three times....
The left wheel fell off so I put it back on, then it fell off again, then the plastic snapped, both wheels fell off, the axle fell off and the spreading mechanism snapped, and now it's at the street for trash pickup. My yard is .36 acres. What a waste of money and plastic.

Got it for the air filled tires
I had previously Edgeguard Dlx. I stepped up and purchased the pro version because of the air filled tires. I had used it for the first time, the both wheels will not stay attached. I had made sure the cap ends was secured inside the wheels. Not a happy camper. I had to fertilized my yard by hand.

Broke First Day of Use
My first day to use this product and it failed on its second load. I filled it 1/4 full for my first pass to know what the settings needed to be. Filled it a second time 1/3 full and about half way through the spinner quit spinning. I had to finish with my hand spinner. The hand spreader has always worked good. I thought I would lessen my work by getting a big spreader. This was not the case. I will return it tomorrow. I do not recommend this product.

First time use it stopped working in about ten feet. Emptied the hopper to see if there was a jamb or something just blocking the feed chute. All clear. Fiddled around with it and got things to move the way they should. Filled the hopper only a quarter of the way to check it, and it only worked for about three feet this time. Everything just stops working. The wheels are moving but nobody's home. Buy something else.

Had this spreader for just one season and it never worked correctly. Out of the box it had a bad wheel, Scotts replaced it after waiting several weeks. Using the spreader was difficult, the wheels are too small to hold a full hopper and the auger design is a failure. The auger unit stops spinning and upon examination it appears to load up from debris from the fertilizer rendering it useless. It cannot be disassembled nor can it be cleaned. I tried everything to get this to spread with no luck.DO NOT BUY.

Poor Quality - I learned my lesson by not reading reviews
I've had this spreader for a little over a year and the plastic on the wheel has degraded. (Poor engineering design for the price). I'd purchased this spreader thinking it would last as long as my previous Scott spreader (10 years Hard plastic wheels). I wanted the rubber tires to be smoother going over my lawn. Really disappointed in the product No I'm shopping for a new one

There is nothing Pro about this spreader!
I usually research before I buy and did so on this product. I purchased the Scotts PRO Edgeguard Broadcast Spreader in Nov. 2017 and really probably start using it until the Spring of 2018. The edgeguard feature really has never worked properly with the slide lever. I even thoroughly clean after each use. Now here in Sep 2020 the wheel falls off, making me miss my opportunity to get my fertilizer down before the rain. If you want your spreader to last, don't buy this one. By other reviews, it seams the wheels falling off is common. This is junk!
