Owned for three years, two seasons of use

Unit works great initially, but after two seasons of use the agitator in the hopper isn't working anymore. A season equates to about six uses. Kind of ticked that after twelve to fifteen uses the darn thing is broken. This is the third one I've owned as the same thing happened with the first two, but they at least lasted three or four seasons. I

Short life, weak parts

Short life, weak parts. I haven't done a lot of applications and the aggitator came off, the wheels fell off once too

Brakes down all the time . Not reliable

The spinner does not work. The tires will not hold air. The bucket agitator pops off all the time .

Worked well for 2 years, fell apart. Difficult to find parts for so far...might be going for something that is actually professional. Should not say pro, should say not pro.

Poor quality

The right wheel came off while the unit was loaded and i was spreading fertilizer. a cheap, plastic tube is the only thing holding the tire to the axle. i bet they dont offer a replacement part.

I wanted to love this spreader but it's sucky...

I've tried using this spreader a few times in the fall, and this winter to put down ice melt. On all occasions I had issues with it. Both involved engaging and releasing the spreader handle. On multiple occasions, I would engage the handle, and the chute to spread product would not open. After trying to finagle, shake, etc., the spring would snap open and then work. I mean it really sucked when I would push and see no product coming out. On other occasions, when releasing the handle, the chute remained open and the fertilizer continued to spread despite releasing the handle. This spreader cost to much to have these issues during the first uses. I also had a problem with a cheaper Scotts spreader which led me to this one. I thought this would be better quality but it is not. I'd look around if I was looking for a spreader.

Very disappointed in the poor quality

I purchased this spreader with balloon tires and the edge guard features thinking that it was an upgrade to my previous Scotts Spreader that I gave to my neighbor. Every time I go to use it the tires are flat, today the spinner came off, when I put it back on the drive wheel seems to bind up and does not want to turn easily. There also is a grinding noise in the gear box, like fertilizer is inside. Not what I expected at all, very disappointed. Now I need to borrow my old spreader from my neighbor.

Broadcast wheel will not spin!

I bought this “PRO” fertilizer spreader last summer and used it once for fall application. This spring filled with Scott's product, but now the broadcast wheel will not turn. There is no adjustment that can be made to get the wheel to turn the shaft that drives the spinner...... plastic junk!!!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS EXPENSIVE piece of junk!!!! I do not recommend purchasing!!

Very poor quality

Product fell apart right out of the box. Spread pattern is heavy on right side, light on the left. Leaves large stripes in yard as a result. First time I put more than half full with grass seed...the drive gears stripped. Had to put screw into drive shaft to keep drive wheel turning. Complete waste of money. Useless for any yard application. Plastic does not rust but it also does not hold up.

Not reliable

I bought the first Scotts Pro with edge guard in the spring of 2019. I completed the assembly and filled with fertalizer. The braodcaster would not turn, so the fertilizer was dropping below the unit in piles. I unloaded all material, pushed it and the broadcaster was turning. I refilled with 1/2 the amount of material, and the braodcaster would not spin. I exchanged for a second unit, used it the first time without fail. I started to complete a second application for the season, about 9-10 weeks later. Filled the hopper and the braodcaster would not turn. Returned and am looking for a reliable unit. Scott's has always had a good product, but quality has slipped.
