The design of Samsung is not made to last. There are rods in them that break and are not covered by the warranty. Samsung doesn’t tell you this and instead will gives you the run around and then sends a repair tech out that will charge you $170 just for showing up and telling you they can’t do anything about it unless you want to dish out an additional $800 for labor/parts. The washing machine is in fact useless. Samsung is really out here stealing our money. I called Samsung to see if there was anything they can do (issue a credit of the $170) and of course they said no. I even suggested if they could put the $170 towards a new machine for me but they said no to that as well.

Bought this washer 3 years ago worked okay with occasional UB (unbalanced) codes. Now we constantly get UB code even when using light loads and rebalancing the loads by hand. Had a repair person out and they were unable to diagnose the cause. They said this is a frequent occurrence with all Samsung washers. Will never purchase a Samsung appliance again. Save your money look elsewhere. We will be going with a speed queen as recommended by the technician.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our first time owning a topload washer, we were skeptical about it, but the washing cycle runs very quiet, spin cycle is also very quiet.. actually quieter than out old frontload washer. I connected my washer dryer set to Smartthings, it gives me notification when the cycle is done, I can even check in the app what exactly going now now and how much time is left. Large capacity but fits perfectly in our tiny laundry room.. Love the overall look.. Thumbsup from me!!

I don’t even know where to start but this machine is the worst functioning appliance I have ever had. It did not even perform better than some of the cheap washing machines that were in apartment buildings when I used to rent. It constantly tangled clothes no matter how much you spread them out and how little the load. It even damaged and ripped some clothes. It did not handle comforters Well even the lightweight ones when this is supposed to be a large capacity machine. Water would be left at the bottom of the machine and clothes did not spin out well and I didn’t even have the machine halfway full. The last final thing is the electric panel went out and the machine just stopped working I only had it for a couple of years. Thankfully I had a warranty and I am now getting another machine I will be going back to my LG front load brand and buying the same model which I had for 11 years. I gave it away to my children. I am disappointment in Samsung as they used to have quality products I feel like they are now below standard and they really need to improve if they want to be around as a reliable brand. I would not recommend this machine to anyone I really hope there’s an improvement.

The biggest learning curve for us - why didn't the water beginning filling the tub immediately? The washer actually spins to sense and identify the load mass, then calculates the needed washer and time. Only then does the actual water begin to fill. I had to look online to find out tidbit and appreciate the fellow reviewers that had stated so. After our learning curve, we are looking forward to17 Washing cycles. So many options and choices that we've only tested a handful in the week we have had it. Impressive items on the Washer are the WaterJet options (no sink needed), agitator for extra cleaning, and Super Speed Wash, decreasing the overall time. * I love the WaterJet option since a sink is not near the Washing Machine. * The Agitator is doing all as claimed by Samsung. I was able to watch it spin and work through the glass top. Software: SmartThings and Smart Care * SmartThings is a fantastic app. Not only does it provide real time information for your washing cycle, it helps understands all the available configuration options. The User Interface (UI) is very easy to use and follow. The barcode on the physical washer made it super easy for the software installation. * Need help troubleshooting a problem or code? Smart Care is there. It is a very helpful and intuitive user interface. If you still are stuck, support numbers are available in the app. Overall, we are impressed with our initial week of using the Samsung Washer and look forward to utilizing the full suite of options.

Frustrating machine. First, the good. It is big enough to swallow an oversized king comforter and clean it without complaint. The problem is that it is so deep that my 5'2" wife can't reach into the bottom to retrieve small items (it is directly on the floor). The other thing is that the functions are TOO "smart". Sometimes I just want to tell a machine what temperature to wash the clothes and how much. to agitate. In addition, while I like the ability to do multiple rinses, adding them adds a very long time to the wash. 3 rinses makes it take almost 3 hours to finish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this washer! It arrived at the perfect time as I had a bunch of laundry I needed to do including my bedding and 3 blankets for the dogs. I did 3 loads of laundry - 1 for my bedding, 1 for the dogs bedding and 1 for clothes. This would usually take me AT LEAST 5 separate loads but this washer had so much extra space. I've used about 4 of the 17 wash cycles, including downloading the Eco Cold onto it from the SmartThings app. Speaking of the app - setting it up was a complete breeze. I've used SmartThings extensively before but this was by far the easiest. After installing and running a test load I was prompted on my phone to connect to the washer. The best part is I was all the way up stairs and it still connected. When I went downstairs to check on it I was able to easily scan the QR code to finish the setup. I wasn't entirely sure how I felt about the wifi feature but after spending the day using it I love being able to check on the status or get the remaining time. This is even more true because the washer is just *so* quiet that I can't tell if it's running from anywhere else in the house. Now I just get a notification on my phone that it's done and I know to go down there. While we're on the topic of the app, there was only one downside that I have found with the washer and the app so far - I would love to be able to create my own custom preset that I could download to the washer. For example I typically wash my clothes on "Normal" but with cold water. The washer by default uses hot water, which isn't a big deal to change. However if I could just create a new preset on the app and download it to the washer that would be absolutely amazing and I do feel like this is a missed opportunity. However there is just so much to love here. The huge capacity and nearly silent operation are almost mind blowing. I also love that as I'm changing settings on the control panel that it shows me exactly how long it will be running for. Attached is a not-so-great photo of my current setup. I have a shelf above the units that will either need to be raised or re-located as these are slightly taller than my old ones. So for the time being they're sticking out further than necessary in order to use them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just replaced my old Washing Machine with this unit - hoping to find something that worked faster, handled larger loads, and made less noise. I wish I would have done this a while ago. My new Samsung has all the features and more that I could have hoped for. The biggest initial difference was how much quieter this unit is - hardly any noise and no vibrations. There are also ton of settings that allow me to find what's right for the type of load I'm cleaning. I also learned about the WaterJet option which is like having a sink in the laundry room to pre-soak and clean/treat items for those who don't have a sink. Another nice feature for those without a sink in their laundry room is the WaterJet option. I would highly recommend a unit with an agitator. It gets your clothes cleaner in a shorter amount of time and prevents them from clumping together in one area, which happens on a lot of machines when you put a bunch of items in the basin. Also, since it's a top-load, there's no musty smell like I've noticed on many front load machines. The SmartThings app allows me to see how much time is required to finish the load when I'm not in the same room or away from the house. It was surprisingly easy to set up on my phone. I found everything straight-forward to use and hardly even had to reference the manual. Really happy with this purchase!

The biggest advantage is the size- it has very large capacity and works so much better for sheets/blankets/comforters/ pillows. This has helped us cut down on the number of loads. We are family of 8 and we use our washing machine almost every single day. There are multiple temperature settings/ cycle settings which makes it convenient to operate. The fact that it can be operated through app is a great plus. The smart things app was very convenient to use too. It is so quite as compared to our old set of washer. I would highly recommend the washer and dryer to anyone who is looking to upgrade theirs.
