He’s tried many other topical applications and he prefers this one for its speed, better smell (not as strong), and efficacy. It works fast, and the soreness feels much better for longer. He loves that it’s simple to apply, and not as messy, and he can use it without fear of staining his clothes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Biofreeze Pain Relief Roll-on the other day. It has a pleasant odor. I tried it on my shoulder. It has a cooling effect and was fast acting, the scent does fade over a short time. My shoulder seemed to move more comfortably and didn’t ache for quite some time. The directions do say you can use it up to 4 times a day. I am very happy with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm always looking for something that will take away my arthritis pain. It smells very strongly of menthol and uses cold therapy. I have never liked the smell of any of the roll on's or creams. Also, my arthritis gets more relief from heat, not cold! I have to be honest, it smells and acts just like every other menthol remedy. Nothing new or unique about it. Everyone knows you're wearing it from the smell. I will keep hoping for a more effective, less smelly product. I will note; it doesn't work badly, it just doesn't work for me.

The cooling effect is great and the relief is wonderful. He has seen a reduction in inflammation when he applies the product. I highly recommend using this should you experience joint or muscles pains and are looking for some relief. The roll on so easy to apply and we keep it at our bedside table so he can apply before bed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have occasional back pain that’s triggered when I bend over too much, or maybe stay in one position for too long. My pain is in my back, and is really deep, that I can’t even “reach it” to massage it or anything. (Now, since my pain is random, maybe I’m not giving this product long enough to work, or not enough chances to work.) But I will say that I like the roll on feature, it makes it a little easier to get places that are harder to reach. I couldn’t pinpoint the exact spot for my pain so I put it all around the area. You can’t put this on when you’re in a rush, you really need to let the gel dry and absorb into your skin (to get the full benefit and effects) The smell isn’t bad, and it doesn’t linger (maybe it would if you got it all over your clothing, but follow my advice to avoid that) The main ingredient used is menthol, amd it gives somewhat of a cooling effect. It seemed as if the cooling sensation distracts you from the pain in a sense, because it doesn’t last a long time. I’d recommend it for before bedtime, if you tend to wake up in pain. I also recommend the clinical higher strength formula with 10% menthol, if you really want to get some relief from pain! I hope this helps, and I hope this can work for you. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Biofreeze pain relief gel provides the same effective relief I have come to rely on with Biofreeze products. I like the concept of a roll on so I can keep the product off of my hands for application, however, the gel doesn't go on as lightly or evenly as I hoped so I do end up having to smooth it out and rub it in with my hands. It does provide pain relief for several hours after application but could stand a bit more improvement on the consistency and applicator.
