PS~Portal

Absolutely love this thing! When the wife wants to watch TV, I just head to the room and play on the portal. There is a little lag at times but not enough for there to be un-enjoyable. Over all great machine and very cool! 5 out of 5 for me. Good job Sony!

Amazing product.

I love the PlayStation portable because now you don’t need a PlayStation 5 because of the new update for the portable but I still play my PlayStation 5 because in case my wife wants to play on the portable and I’m in the middle of a game or something. It’s worth the money and everything.

Works great on a network of its own

This thing is really cool once you get the networking configured - it is network intensive. My main wireless network has a lot of devices attached and simply too much traffic to not interrupt it - It was unusable. I had an old router lying around, so I created a new network, plugged the console into the new network, and have the portal and and it as the only 2 devices on it - and it's rock solid. Never disconnects or freezes.

Ehh save your money

Really isn’t useful made it seem like you could play it without being directly next to your play station but the second you move more than a food away it disconnects. Hopefully here’s some updates that allow remote play without problems and without needing to have the ps on in the other room…

Surprisingly Good

I got the Portal despite my reservations that it would be a mediocre product because I had recently been in accident and was going to be on mandatory bedrest for two months and I wanted something to pass the time that wasn't just more reading (which I do love) or watching Netflix or browsing the internet. I just wanted to be able to play my games even though I felt it was overpriced and I was worried about performance. But.. I was pleasantly surprised. It works really well. I have an internet connection that when speed tested usually hits around 150-200mbps download and 75-150 mbps upload. It claims to only need 15mbps. Maybe that's true, but I'd doubt it. I have near flawless performance all the time though unless I start downloading something to the PS5. It's essentially unusable when you're downloading a game. So if you setup a download, you may as well turn it off for a while. It even runs fine when my SO or I are also watching Netflix or they're playing Valorant or we're playing PS5 games together online on the same connection. The device feels good, looks great and runs well. I'm actually really pleased with it and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to remote play their PS5 in the best, most comfortable way.

It’s fun to have and so easy use. I have a daughter that loves watching cartoons on the tv so I don’t want to interfere with her every time i wanna play. So not only does it come in handy when you are away it helps when you cannot play your games on the big screen.

Portal is FUN Research it before you buy though!

Works great if your TV is being used by someone and you wanna play your console that its plugged into. Also great if you are a Premium PS Plus Subscriber as the Portal allows you to play games without even being connected to remote play. I hear more features are coming in 2025 so it'll be me more like a standalone console. So Id say its worth the buy in the future. I use mine alot

Great peripheral

If you would love to play your PS5 in bed but the machine is in the living room here is the gear for you. It does require good wifi so if you lack that this will be a bad investment. Otherwise you can beat taking your gaming to bed or even the toilet is you are one of those gamers ;)

Great portable PS5!

Works great, love having a portable PS5 in my hands at any time. Connects quickly and games run great. The screen is crisp and the audio is super loud, it's actually too loud for me even at minimum level, so I need to adjust the in game volume. But this device does exactly what it is built to do and it does it really well.

It’s a streaming controller screen

This is a controller with a screen in the middle and a built it network card. That being said it does its job well, screen looks good and buttons are great. The performance of this device is entirely dependent on internet connection speed so take that into consideration when you buy it. Need good speeds at home at out and about if you plan to play remotely.
