Amazing Controller

My teen sons love these. Pretty cool, you can play remotely on your PS5 console anywhere you have a wifi connection. And, I mean anywhere. One of my sons used his phone hot spot to play in a friend's car (a bit of lag, but it DID work.) Way beyond my understanding sometimes, but they do work.

Good.

Very cool. Didn’t look too much into it before I got it. Didn’t know it’s touch screen. Works good for my sports game when casting from PS5. And works good on other games. Can’t wait for it to be finished, it’s still technically in Beta. But works good. Speakers do suck on it. Use headphones.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was a fathers day gift ... Don't know to much about games ... But the website helps me find what I needed and gave a detailed description of my product ... Easy to find ... And insurance for the product was affordable as well

Do. Not. Buy.

Connected flawlessly, screen was bright and vibrant, was able to play for about 15 minutes and moved to a different section of my house and lost connection to the PS5 while being on the same network. After 30 minutes of attempting to connect restarted the device and moved to where the PS5 is located and next to the wireless router, still unable to connect to PS5. Absolute waste of money, another awful experience involving Sony's devices ability to connect to WiFi.

So much potential, but not quite there yet.

Let's be honest. Version 4.0 is a game changer. It is what should have been available at launch. Now that we have it, how does it exactly change things? Well for starters, you can cloud stream whatever is on the premium plus membership that you have to pay for. Not all games are available, you still can't use YouTube or Netflix, and you can really only still play this wherever there is wifi or a hotspot. Sony really missed the mark on not being able to have a sd card to have games saved on the system like the Nintendo switch, because this limits to where you can get the best connection when streaming a game. If you want to sit outside in a rocking chair in your back yard, forget about it. Now, let's say you don't have a ps5. I do, but let's say you don't. If you want to play the newest CODBO6, and you think you can just buy the game on the portal, or via your phone app to your ps5 account and get right into the action, think again. If you have the ps5 and download the game on the console, then stream it to your ps portal, then it will work. If they implemented a store where you could purchase games directly on the portal, then I would recommend this in a heartbeat, because right now, you're really only getting a beta handheld that can play only the games Sony wants to release, and you could hate all of them, and have no games to play and pay for a monthly service. It is a nice step forward, given the system only has 3 updates since release, but given I have done my through test on this device, it is no where near being complete. Personally I don't use my ps5 anymore, but having it for just exclusive games, is worth every penny over the portal. Why? Because you are getting better quality of picture, better ethernet connection, zero lag, and a powerhouse of a system. The portal still has so much potential, but with what is does now in 4.0, some may find it to be useful, but long story short, no store, no cod, no sd card, has to be played in wifi, have to pay for premium remote play, there are more cons that weigh the system down than positives. I personally would advise to wait until the newer handhelds come out. Sony has confirmed a newer handheld will be releasing in the next year or two, xbox is working on one, Nintendo as well, so I would really advise waiting, then jumping the gun on a beta product, that is not fully complete.

Playstation portal

This is the Perfect complètement for my ps5. Having kids around the house, not always I have the change to have the tv for playing my games. So playing confortably on my couch is perfect. One tip though: be sure to have your ps5 ethernet wired to your modem before remote playing. It is a better experience

perfect PS5 companion 👍

this is the best way to remote play your ps5 games way better than you would on your phone and the screen size is the right size (8 inch screen) as is i highly recommend this to anyone who owns a PS5 and now they updated the device and now its even better because the 1st time now you can use this device without a ps5 at all to play your ps5 games via the ps plus premium cloud streaming and it works flawlessly if you have a decent connection i will say you have to have the Internet for this device to work no offline functionality and i will leave you with 1 helpful tip for remote play plug your ps5 directly to your router via Ethernet and you will have a lag free gaming experience

My favorite addon. Get a case and screen guard

It's a wonderful addition to my ps. I can move around the house and continue my game regardless of what room I'm in. The beta streaming library works wonderfully and gets new titles added weekly. The only downside is it requires a very strong wifi signal for remote play. I still highly recommend getting one if you can. All the features of a standard ps5 controller with a fantastic screen.
