Question: Is a PlayStation Plus membership required to use PlayStation Portal™ Remote Player and PlayStation® Remote Play?
Answer: No, using PlayStation Portal™ Remote Player and PlayStation® Remote Play does not require a PlayStation Plus membership.2 If you are using Remote Play to play a game that requires a PS Plus membership to access multiplayer, then you would need to have an active membership to access that game’s multiplayer features. Good for story games
It's a great device. Especially if you're into story games. But obviously you do need a PS5 unless you pay for the premium subscription which lets you stream games. But even then you need stable Wi-Fi, you need to know that you won't be able to access the library of games you already own. Only what ever PlayStation has put out for the month. Streaming from the PS5 isn't wow either. If you're playing an online multiplayer game like fortnite, rocket league, COD, etc. it's not very great. There is input lag. Not horrible but if you're a hardcore gamer you will absolutely notice. You can't stream YouTube or Netflix unfortunately. It's still great for story games, being comfortable on your bed and enjoying some games. So it's still worth it but you need to know the Cons.
