I was bit skeptical of getting the PS Portal, but after getting one I’m having a lot of fun. If you don’t know to much about the Portal is a PS accessory, not a stand alone system. The Portal will let you play your PS games on the go as long as you are connected to a WiFi network, and YES!!! it does also work with your phone HotSpot. The Portal has a great ergonomic design just as good as the Dualsense controller. The 8 inch 1080P LCD display is very good with vibrant colors and great sharpness. Battery life is about 3 to 4 hours and to my surprise, the device speakers are quite good and clear. The weight of the Portal is well balanced so I have not experienced any type of fatigue by holding the Portal for more than an hour. Why is not 5 Stars? Well the Portal on let you stream your games. It does not include Bluetooth so if you want to experience true wireless sound you need to buy the PS Pulse earbuds that cost $199 ouch!!! You cannot watch your favorite streaming apps like Netflix or Disney but I guess this is due to copyright issues. But my biggest complaint is that you can not play the PS Cloud games. That being said, in overall the PS Portal is a great streaming device that will let you have fun even far away from home.

Great overall experience being able to roam freely around the house playing PS5 and letting the rest of the family watch tv. Now that they updated the software to allow you to play without PS5 allowing you to stream games from their catalog for free if you’re a PS Plus Premium member letting you connect to any WIFI and play the catalog without PS5 is an added plus

Works great, love having a portable PS5 in my hands at any time. Connects quickly and games run great. The screen is crisp and the audio is super loud, it's actually too loud for me even at minimum level, so I need to adjust the in game volume. But this device does exactly what it is built to do and it does it really well.

Easy ordering process. Quick delivery. The product it self has its flaws. I would not buy again at the same price. Design and the idea of how it "could" potentially function is good. And new reviews online show that the joy stick is already starting to fail after a week of use, with no restock in the near future. I'd hold off on getting one for now.

I just got it to play games when someone else wants to use the TV. If you have good internet I definitely recommend it, I mostly play PS4 games on it and they look just as good as they did on PS4, haven't tried to play any PS5 games and I haven't tried the streaming Beta either but I'm sure they're great. Really convenient way to game when you can't use the tv

If you meet two requirements, this device is exactly what it says it is. First, high speed internet. Second, a PS5 connected via Ethernet cable-not WiFi. I was hesitant to buy a portal, but I’m glad I finally did %26 think now is a good time to do so with all the updates it’s had. I’ve had no issues playing any of my games, from single player offline ones, to multiplayer online games like BO6 %26 Off the Grid. I’ve really been impressed with it so far. For a cloud gaming device only, this one is solid %26 Ive tried others including my phone. You can also use the portal without a PS5 by paying the highest tier PS Plus subscription, and streaming games from the cloud. At $200 or less on sale, it’s a great addition to your PlayStation experience provided you have the network setup to support it.

Works great with the cloud gaming on ps plus premium. But not so much with the ps5 even though my WiFi is WiFi 6 and I have 2Gbps internet. My internal WiFi speed is 10Gbps. So not sure where the bottle neck is. It should work faster with the ps5 than the cloud gaming. If I could get it working on my WiFi with the ps5 there would be very little to consider cons with it. Pros are the screen size is good. The controller grips feel good. The buttons and triggers feel solid. The sticks feel solid.

In short, remote play itself isn't perfect. Your only reason to get this is if you're a hardcore PS fan or you want the full ps5 controller feel. The major problem that gets in the device's way is "LAG" if you play games that don't require precise aiming or movement then you'll experience will be fine. I tested the device with Resident Evil 2 remake and I missed many shots due to the input lag the device has(keep in mind I had great Internet with 800 download and 28 upload). Anything aside from this the device would be perfect for remote playing. If you've played remote okay on a pc, laptop, iPhone or Android, you already have pretty much an idea on how much input lag you may experience (PS Portal will not eliminate any issues you experienced with a backbone for example). Overall, great device consept, just not for everyone.

I waited until they got the cloud streaming added to the PS Portal and even though I am horrible with a controller this is an awesome little addition to the PS ecosystem. There is some lag from time to time but for the most part the remote play and the cloud play are very playable with even a not so decent connection. Just keep in mind you may loose connection if a big game update is being downloaded.

the wife can be watching her i wrecked my car, i like you, i hate you, i love you, kissy kissy, lets get married hallmark crap and i can play games. we were 25 miles away and i was using it. you need wifi, remote play on (on ps5), and ps5 in rest mode. for me it's well worth the money.
