LG French Door Refrigerator

This refrigerator is just the right size for my husband and I. It is very easy to clean and the drawer inside is perfect to store cheese and other items. It is great that it has the freezer below the refrigerator as it is so much nicer than a side by side. And the ice maker is perfect size and we never run out of ice.. It has little noise - maybe only when the ice maker works. We are very happy with this purchase.

Nicer than I originally thought

We originally bought another refrig with a top freezer which leaked when we switched the doors. Due to availability and size we were very limited and decided to try this bottom freezer. We had heard of the difficulties with getting LG parts and were skeptical. So far we are enjoying our purchase.

Freezer compressor replacement

I purchased my LG French Door refrigerator/freezer four years ago. A couple of weeks ago, the freezer stopped working, I contacted LG Service Technician came the following day and performed warrranty repairs. The freezer is functioning as well as new and I couldn't be happier!

Awesome good looking mid level size icebox!

Cooling defaults seem to be spot on. The capacity of this refrigerator is a good size for my wife and I. The ice maker make plenty of ice and the freezer is a good size for our purposes. This refrigerator runs very quiet except when the ice maker cycles, but it is no louder than expected. The inside is designed pretty well too, but it would be nice to be able to get more of the taller things in the doors like gallon milk or other tall things by adjusting the holders. Temperature is very good and the door display that lets you know your dual temps are appreciated. When you use the lower drawer freezer and close it, it will be pretty loud as it self closes because the ice bin rattles the cubes that makes most of the noise. I have gotten used to how loud closing the freezer can be, but you can consciously close it more intentionally and not let it slam, This isn’t a deal breaker for me. I haven’t changed the water filter yet so I can’t comment on how this will go. The appearance of this refrigerator is very good and looks so good in our kitchen.

Milk Storage

A gallon of milk can only be stored on the top shelf or door; however, the optimal location for milk is on the bottom shelf, not the top shelf and not the door, but the shelves cannot be adjust to store milk on the bottom shelf.

Very Nice looking but it has issues

I've had this refrigerator for almost 5 years. In that time, I have had to have LG come out twice. First because the wires weren't insulated properly and it became so loud you couldn't hear the TV in the next room. 3 years later it got really loud and then it died completely and I lost all the food in the freezer. LG replaced the compressor and the loud wires for a second time. I wish I could say it works as well as it looks.

Need to replace this, AGAIN!

I had been postponing doing this review in the hope of giving a good one. Alas, I'm now desperately needing a fix to a major problem. In June I replaced my LG 30-inch French Door refrigerator with another one. I was disappointed in that it only lasted me 5 years. Given my feature preferences and space constraints, I chose to replace with the same model bought on June 11th of this year. Only 3 weeks after, the condenser needed to be replaced as it would not cool to the desired temperature. I am having the same issue now, just 3 months after the replacement. The ice in the freezer is melting and foods placed there do not freeze completely. A manual thermometer show a freezer temeparture above 32 degrres F.
